About this ebook

**Everybody knows it's either sticks and snails and puppy dog tails or sugar and spice and everything nice.

But is it a fair game if there are only two choices?**

Midnight; a magical hour but there's only one night a year when it happens twice.

It's been agreed that the clock is changed across the globe but is it also agreed that the occasion is special?

Judge for yourself because anyone who stays up to see the hour rewind can be welcomed into the Game Of The Hour Lounge where for an hour (hence the name) you can roam to your heart's desire.

Play once, twice, a hundred times you can wager as many chips as you can create. Win a bear the size of your house, spend your hour at the buffet or chat the time away with the other players. Do whatever you like! The choice is yours.

But beware if you don't play *and be more aware* if you do.

You won't miss it, but it might miss you.

Crow and their sister Trisha are about to experience the once-a-year midnight and all that comes with it. Will they survive the hour?

Step right up, place your bets!

-

A short standalone story about sisterhood, identifying as nonbinary and how one might affect the other.

Who knew coming out of daylight saving time could be so exciting?

    What is [SEC]?

    ––––––––

[SEC] stands for the Simply Entertainment Collection.

These are a collection of standalone Young Adult books that are published as the name so foretells; they are simply entertainment. Their main objective is to take you on a diverting journey but that doesn't mean they are without a moral to the story.

This set of books is published as Young Adult because they use age appropriate language, story length and themes. That said, parents and guardians are invited to first review the material for themselves.

The subcategory(s) of each book will help determine the likelihood of your enjoyment.

For example, this book is fiction within the genre of paranormal as well as coming of age. In this book, you will join a pair of siblings who find themselves in a strange game room where they are encouraged to play to their hearts desire, but only for one hour.

If that sounds interesting to you, then this is the book for you. If not, then consider looking into another title in this collection or if you are looking for a book to dive into that deals with less light hearted themes consider one in the Mature Content Collection. Either way.

    Thank you for reading.

    Chapter 1

A mistake is a choice you haven't made yet.

Or a choice you're still thinking about making huh? I rephrase as my cursor hovers over the 'yes' button.

The door suddenly slams behind me causing me to jump and click.

Bristles Trish! I complain to my screen, not having to turn around to know that it's her. Only my sister would possibly still be up at- I look at the corner of my screen, close, but it's not even midnight.

Guess it's not as late as I'd thought. I admit with an inward shrug.

Have you finished your contemporary structures essay? Trisha asks from behind me.

That's a purely rhetorical question, so she wants something... I sigh to myself then spin my chair to face her.

Trisha is perched on a chair she must've pulled up- I pause and think back. Trisha's perched on a chair I might've forgotten to put away and she's looking back at me like she's still waiting for my answer. Cue inward eye roll.

I laugh to myself as I amend that to the kind that's reserved for little sisters when they come knocking to get their attention tanks filled.

I chuckle again but uncross my arms and slither a hand backwards to set my screen on standby.

    Yep I'm done, do you-

She cuts me off with a dramatic sigh.

Ahhh! I'm SO HAPPY that I'm related to someone who's on time! She shares with a swoon, one that with the extra context I'll call relieved instead of dramatic.

"You do realize that doesn't change
