August is National Hair Loss Awareness month. And with the NHS estimating that more than eight million women in the UK are suffering from hair loss, more properly known as alopecia – among them Made in Chelsea ’s Olivia Bentley (right) – it’s clearly time to talk about it.

According to Alopecia UK, there are nine types, including alopecia areata, an autoimmune condition that causes hair to fall out.
