will come as no surprise when I say I am obsessed by guns. I like everything about them — their texture, craftsmanship, ingenuity and their social/historical contexts. Touch any old gun and you shake hands with history. Yet for all that, there is something I like even more and that is adverts about old guns. They are a fleeting window into a bygone age just as old photographs are.
