    THE ALEX BARTEAU ASIAN QUARTET

        Alex Barteau is advised by a Chinese colleague who teaches with him at a private HBC in Atlanta GA that he should apply to teach in China. During his first tour in China, he teaches at one university for two years.  During this time, he becomes involved in an affair with a lovely Chinese teacher at the same university. He also meets a British female expat who becomes a life-long friend. This book is titled FORBIDDEN VOICES.

        When he returns to China after one year in the US, he teaches at several universities and has both good and negative experiences. E.g., some students complain that he is too difficult and some Chinese professors intentionally bump him from behind. The last university where he teaches before completing a five-year tour is the same one where he started, and where he met his British expat colleague. This book is titled FOREIGNERS AND EMPERORS.

       Back in the US and settled in the Illinois river town where he grew up, Alex communicates with a portential business partner in the Philippines.  The partner ends up cheating him because of an alleged misunderstanding, as do lawyers and several ladies from that country. He is thrown into debt and almost declares bankruptcy in SMS: THE SCAMMERS.

      In the final novel in the quartet, Alex is back in Atlanta GA and working with a former colleague who happens to be a PhD in psychology. Since he is again drawn into SMS communications with women from the Philippines, he wants to learn why he is repeating this self-defeating behavior. This ebook novel is titled LOVE, SEX, AND PANDEMICS. This time, however, he is exposed to some information and experiences of overseas lady friends thet he finds shocking.  Whether or not Alex learns what he wants to know about his own frailties or shortcomings, as his brother calls them, he will never be the same after these overseas communications.
