Reality: What It Is and What It Can Be
()
About this ebook
Success in various areas of our lives depends on how much our view of reality coincides with reality itself. Humanity inexorably multiplies knowledge in all areas of life so quickly that the mind of an individual can get lost in this ocean of growing information, trying to collect and systematise what is possible in a single picture of the world. Is there a description of reality that would allow us to look at it as objectively as possible? To see a certain palette of colors behind the multicolor mosaic – a model of reality that does not depend on constantly changing circumstances and new information?
When you are surrounded by people with the same views, it may seem to you that your shared views are the most correct description of reality, and those who hold dissimilar views simply do not understand reality. Perhaps someone will even say that he or she relies solely on knowledge, and faith has nothing to do with it.
Not wanting to get ahead of myself, I can only say that this book may change your view on the very nature of reality. At least, it is designed to – what you do with the information here is up to you. Reading this book requires openness, however – some may liken the ideas of this book to a science fiction novel because they are not open to changing their way of thinking. But, by reading this book calmly and impartially, you will see that what is being discussed in it is not at all a figment of the author’s imagination. Rather, it is a detailed description of the reality in which we live. This book talks about consciousness, reality and their interrelation. Realising how your inner and outer worlds work and being aware of the connection between them helps you not only to understand better the nature of your own thoughts, feelings and desires, but also to better shape your reality through them.

Introduction
All of us are trying to improve our lives, one way or another: special personal achievements, improvement of our financial situation, relationships, spirituality, development of higher moral qualities, finding peace in the heart, and so on. Our actions are connected with our ideas of what is best for us as well as our ideas of how to achieve that. Therefore, what we usually strive to understand is how the world is arranged around us and within ourselves. We are constantly trying to link the multiple pieces of the mosaic called life or reality into a single picture. Even if we don’t often think about the nature of the Universe, we each at some point or another have asked: Why am I, or why is this so and not otherwise? Consciously or not, each of us creates our own model of reality. And as our model of reality more closely reflects reality itself, the more successful we are, no matter what goals and objectives we pursue. On the other side, people are aware of some kind of feedback link between consciousness and reality all around the world. Billions of people pray, meditate and do many other spiritual practices trying to use their consciousness in order to benefit from unseen power which stands behind seen reality. If there is one or is it just mass self delusion? If accuracy of the reality model is so important, it would not be the best idea to accept views blindly and move through life as in darkness, determining next steps at random, trusting one teaching or view of life over another without truly understanding why. I’ve been searching for answers in science and religion, in ancient and modern teachings and philosophies for more than twenty five years. But despite my knowledge and many years of teaching experience, I don’t ask you to trust me. On the contrary, I ask you not to accept any of my or any other teachers' ideas blindly. Because true changings of your life come if they are based on a deep personal understanding of what you should do in your life, as well as how and why you should do something.
I am sure that you have come across a situation in which people believe in something simply because they were told to, without knowing or even trying to understand why these particular views were accepted by them. There are also people who are confident that they know the basis of their beliefs, but if you ask questions and dig deeper, it turns out that not everything is consistent and clear in their beliefs, even for themselves. It is even worse when someone suffers because of their own views, without even realising why they adhere to them to begin with. You may encounter directly opposing views that are based on blind faith only. How can one understand which of these models is closer to reality, if they cannot speak to the rationale behind them? So, the only thing I really expect from you during your reading this book is your ability to read it with no bias. Despite all rationale and extreme practical effectiveness, some conceptions of this book - in a view of their overwhelming scale - require your impartiality for being accepted and reached of their full potential.
Have you ever seen a picture, mosaic or puzzle of enormous size, live? To appreciate such creations, you need to step back and see them entirely. Considering such works of art from the distance of an outstretched arm, you may not be able to see the whole picture, but you can also see a lot. You can admire the accuracy of the lines or the play of colors and the richness of the color spectrum. If you show a person who has not seen the whole picture its individual episodes, then he or she can see a certain commonality of style or catch a plot connection between them, and assume that these elements were written by the same artist. To get the most vivid and complete picture of such a work of art, however, it is necessary to move a sufficient enough distance to see it all at once. Only such a view will allow you to see the plot in its entirety and give you a better understanding of the meaning of individual episodes and the connection between them. In order to claim objectivity, a model of reality must cover the maximum possible scale. That is why I begin the book on the largest possible scale: a look at the Universe. When you see and understand the overall picture, it is easier to understand and interpret more specific episodes of life – and choose the most appropriate ways of acting in them.
On the other hand, in order to be as accurate and useful as possible, a model of reality should not be unnecessarily complicated with a multitude of redundant elements. For example, to explain the work of a toaster and use it safely, searching for some special mystical knowledge would be superfluous. Therefore, I deliberately avoid references to personal revelations and appeals for you to just take my word about something. It is much better, instead, to rely on common sense and the facts of observable reality, as far as possible.
Any idea will change a person’s life if it is taken seriously, but only ideas that are confirmed by reality will change it for the better. In explaining some concepts, I deliberately tried to use simple examples and illustrations in order not to complicate inherently difficult things. However, for all the complexity of the world around us, you may be surprised at the simplicity, consistency and obviousness of ideas and practices that are capable of changing our lives for the better.
The renowned scientist Nikola Tesla wrote: The scientists of today think deeply instead of clearly. One must be sane to think clearly, but one can think deeply and be quite insane
. These words can be addressed not only to scientists. It is clarity of thinking, and not deep knowledge in certain areas, that gives us the key to an adequate perception of reality. Although this book mentions some scientific discoveries, they are not the basis of the proposed model of reality, but rather serve as supplementary evidence. All you really need, in order to understand, accept and effectively practice the ideas of this book, is desire and common sense.
Chapter 1: What Is The Universe We Live In?
Any of us have heard the idea that the Universe is good, wise and generous, and always sends us what we deserve or attracts into our lives what we think about and desire. When I encountered these ideas, I was left feeling vaguely like they were some kind of understatement. After all, if everything is so simple, then why do so many people still live unhappily? Why did the kind, generous and wise Universe create such ignorant people that for thousands upon thousands of years we have still encountered trouble and suffering? And why do some people, even realising the errors of their actions, still repeat them? Upon asking these questions, I realised that this simple model of the Universe does not fully describe the real picture of the world. I did not want to see the world more beautiful than it is. At the same time, I did not want to dramatize or overpaint the picture too much. Books saying that everything is so bad
didn't seem objective enough, either. There are many joyful moments in life. It is worth considering the fact that people’s own
