Pearls On the Wings - Carnel Baker

Pearls on the Wings is an encouraging guide for today that can benefit every Christian, wherever their walk with God has led them. It is also a guide for those who seek a deeper walk with God. I believe this was inspired to draw souls to Christ in testimony of His power and mercy. Pearls on the Wings is very much needed at this time of trouble and confusion.

I have known the author, Carnel Baker, and her family for twenty-four years. She grew up in a godly family on a small farm and began her walk with God at age twelve. She became passionate about Matthew chapter 6 and came to believe it was the answer for an empowered life of provision. In pursuing that path, as described to seek God first, Carnel came face-to-face with the Spirit of truth in the Holy Spirit. This revelation brought a new way of living life for Carnel that she shares in Pearls on the Wings. Her life changed from struggle to miraculous blessings. A few of these miraculous events and visions are shared in Pearls on the Wings.

    DEDICATION

This book is dedicated first and foremost to Christ Jesus: for through Him this book is made possible. Without Jesus, Pearls on the Wings could not have been experienced or written.

He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being.

    —ACTS 17:27–28

This book is also dedicated to my children, grandchildren, and their families: Kevin, Brett, Amy, Tiffany, and Nathan. Each being unique, I am blessed to learn and love each one and be involved in their life experience.

In addition, I rightfully dedicate this book to the memory of deceased family members who each greatly impacted my life and worked in a productive and helpful way: Jake, my husband; my parents; sister Doris; brother Gerald; and also in memory of my infant son Brad.

Also, I want to thank those individuals who participated in the learning and growing experiences noted throughout this book.

    INTRODUCTION

THIS BOOK IS about more than is normally perceived. It’s about going deeper and coming up higher in the kingdom, which is the easy way to an abundant life. Readers will find Pearls on the Wings to be scripturally sound and grounded in living Word for today. Still, it may stretch some readers’ beliefs in the accounts of miraculous events, which some call the divine supernatural. Note this publication is nonfiction; all accounts are factual and true experiences. Decades of counseling work with others has shown the need for people to move into a deeper and higher way of living for today’s times and to experience miraculous encounters with God. This fresh approach moves people out of traditional counseling dependency into helpful experience of God and frees those in pains of loss, crisis, grief, depression, stress, loneliness, hopelessness, despair, regret, and, yes, financial stress. My desire is to help people move forward and beyond secular counseling to a productive and prosperous way of daily life. In this we are enabled to help others:

That we may be able to comfort those who are in trouble with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

    —2 CORINTHIANS 1:4

The following pages cast pearls that have been proven by experience for believers to increase awesome and miraculous encounters of God. Numerous ways are given to get in position and receive what God wants to give you. He is able and willing to delete stress, obstacles, and distractions that keep you from your destiny and His will. Techniques and examples are provided that cultivate passion for God’s will. In the times we live in, it is a must to increase capacity for discernment concerning new conflicts unfolding in the world around us. God gives spiritual wisdom for today to those who pursue spiritual maturity.

Part One: Having an Ear to Hear gives examples of shared personal experiences that seem to move us into the heart of God. It is about learning and experiencing Him in deeper and higher ways that are possible when we purposely seek Him and His will. It is about the various and often mysterious ways He helps us. This part addresses trials, loss, grief, and overcoming as we listen to His heart and understand how He speaks to us. You will learn quick recovery methods in grief and losses of all kinds. He brings us into growth where we can have ears to hear in our daily walk with Him. We can consistently hear God and gain wisdom for the present and the future. When we engage in empowered ways of abiding in Him, He speaks to us in words, visions, mental pictures, divine dreams, revelation, prophecy, or a sense of urgency for guidance. This is how He leads us and guides us to walk with Him. Fourteen common ways are listed that keep us from hearing God or dismiss Him through logical reasoning. Part one also discusses spiritual laws for financial blessings, prosperity proven through experiences of His promises for provision. Testimonies of multiplication are to encourage readers for their own experience of financial provision. Powerful kingdom principles are revealed for financial gain and ongoing prosperity. Four basic lessons are given for prosperity success, shown to be an unfailing system of prosperity gain.

Part Two: The Way of the Divine Supernatural tells true accounts of miraculous help, divine manifestation, and spontaneous healing. Through obedience we can align with His ways daily, as a way of life. The increase of international danger is upon us, and evil seems to increase and lurk around the corner these days; but the Father is able to protect us. Accounts of uncommon protection are to assure you and help increase faith. In this part you will find how-tos for doing what He commands and desires of us. As we seek Him and His ways, He shows us more. You will learn how to discover and create all your God-given desires. You will see how in aligning our desires with His desires, He truly gives us the desires of our hearts. Ten steps are provided to help receive visions and direction in His will.

Part Three: Where Heaven and Earth Meet addresses what Jesus said, When you pray, say: . . . On earth as it is in heaven (Luke 11:2). This section explains heaven in our earth space that He provides for us and where He meets us. The kingdom of heaven within indicates we can experience a portion of heaven while on this earth. Part three also discusses angels of God in the heavenlies where heaven and earth meet. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways (Ps. 91:11, NIV). Angels are explained in accordance with Scripture and readers will be made aware of the increase in recent accounts of real angels sent by God to meet a need. Guidance for prayer journaling is suggested and examples are given that can literally change your life. This part also includes eight short empowering prayers as examples to inspire the readers’ prayer life. This part ends with helpful and healing words I received during daily prayer journaling and devotion—words of value that help elevate us to the divine. I believe they will bring hope and encouragement to others, as they did me: God wants to talk to us. He gives us words for our times and prompts us to share with others. We change and time changes, but He never changes.

Scripture tells us if all Jesus did and taught was written, even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written (John 21:25). Jesus said He had many things to say to us but we could not bear them now when He was physically on earth (John 16:12–13). He is still with us; He is still teaching us for today’s times. Our only quest should be to hear Him, for the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God (1 Cor. 2:10). This publication contains testimony, personal accounts, and experiences of the deeper things of God to inspire others. Examples show that God wants us to really experience His presence and know Him, not just know about Him. The time is now!

For God may speak in one way or another, yet man does not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, When deep sleep falls upon men, While slumbering on their beds. Then He opens the ears of men, And seals their instructions.

    —JOB 33:14–16

Throughout this book pages are packed with personal experience, surprise discoveries, and how-tos that can inspire positive life experiences. Noted occurrences were carefully selected with the hope of benefiting others in similar situations. You will read about firsthand loss and overcoming as well as divine help and healing. I have also written of pain and despair, but always with the intent of encouraging and helping the reader. Not one experience is shared that does not have a purpose for readers. Through this variety of shared experiences, my prayer is that readers can relate to those that will be of significant value to them. You will read how and why doubt often comes in our darkest hours. Jesus said, My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness (2 Cor. 12:9).

Each chapter is filled with powerful nuggets to help lift and excel you to new heights in Him. Although you may find some experiences entertaining, uplifting, and pleasurable, watch for the lessons to be realized. Occasionally you will see poetry, published for the first time, intended to increase awareness or to inspire. Nuggets are woven within the pages that can turn your life upward. Once I read a statement that I have found to be true: one can never be totally happy if they are not in service to others in some way. It is found that the quickest way to realize a growing relationship with God is to positively affect the growing relationship in others. Commit your works to the LORD, and your thoughts will be established (Prov. 16:3).

I realize the risk in publishing sensitive personal experiences is that some may trample on my pearls as I cast them out in these writings (see Matthew 7:6). However, I am assured that some pearls will land on good ground as seeds and grow stronger among the tares. I hope to show in this publication that He is the light of the world (John 8:12) and desires for His light to shine through us (Matt. 5:16) not to attract to self but rather to attract to Him in the troubled and difficult times of today. Still, Scripture tells us repeatedly that He in us makes us children of light to the world. (See Matthew 5:14; John 12:36; Ephesians 5:8; Philippians 2:15.) It is the light of Him.

Readers will quickly understand that the pearls are insights to spiritual wisdom and the wings are referring to the Spirit of Truth, the Holy Spirit, confirmed in referenced scriptures. Pearls on the Wings shows that we can easily have a meaningful and purposeful walk with God—a walk that excels us in all aspects of life despite the obstacles. Examples are provided that help set you free from struggles so that you can live a joyous and prosperous Christian life in spite of the world conditions of today. You will see how you can claim power that is freely given to help you live in prosperity, health, and happiness.

Thank you for your interest in reading my book. I pray that you receive something from these pages that will be of value to you. Whatever the reason may be that you are reading this publication, may the purpose be fulfilled.

    Part One

    HAVING AN EAR TO HEAR

    Chapter I

ON THE WINGS OF THE DOVE

ISAT PROPPED UP in the hospital bed thinking about how easily the births went of my two new babies—twin boys. Four hours earlier I was holding both—one in each arm, joking about the challenge of feeding them both at the same time. Thank the Lord they were on formula and the nurse was helping me to hold one bottle. We discussed the various ways to feed two babies at the same time. The nurse said normally mothers just feed one at a time but I had requested to have them both at the same time. I would find creative ways so one would not have to wait for dinner when feeding times came at home.

The whole pregnancy had been one of the most exciting times of my life. I brimmed with excitement at showing off my nursery with two of everything to match. We had tried to get pregnant for two long years, and then we found out we would have a double blessing. I loved the shopping and the matching and the baby shower with two of everything. It was a glorious time!

The doctor came to see me before he left on vacation. He assured me the babies were small but healthy. As he started to leave the room, he said, Oh, one baby has a small amount of fluid on his lungs, which occurs often. He went on to tell me not to be concerned because they had a machine that easily took care of that problem. So, when the babies came in for me to feed them, I could see he was right. There was no sign of any problem. I thanked the Lord that the problem the doctor spoke of was gone. It was so much fun watching the little mouths taking milk from a bottle nipple that looked enormous in a five-pound baby’s mouth. The nurse smiled, signifying she too thought it was delightful.

So here I was again, eagerly waiting for the babies and thinking I would try to do both bottles by myself this time. The first baby was placed on one arm and I was handed a warm bottle. I waited for the next baby. The door opened and a nurse or aid came in I had never seen before. She said nothing and started doing what nurses do periodically in a room. She said in a displeased, raised voice, Ma’am, aren’t you going to feed your baby? I explained that I was waiting for the other baby. She never stopped what she was doing, refilling the water pitcher, and said in the same stern tone, Oh, they haven’t told you? That baby died.

That’s all I remember for a while. They said I went into shock. The next thing I knew my husband and mother-in-law were standing over me with tear-streaked faces and great sadness in their eyes. Then I remembered what the nurse said—my baby was dead!

The next few days are a blur in my memory. But I do remember being wheeled into the hospital sanctuary to a small, silvery white, open casket with tiny blue roses on top. Family members and close friends were there.

I remained in the hospital for a week. Visitors from the church, other friends, and family came to pay their condolences. The visits were mixed between celebration of my new baby named Brett and tears for my dead baby named Brad.

When I was released to go home, I sat in the recliner holding my new baby and needing my other baby, knowing there had to be a change of plans. What do I do with the matching cribs and clothes and plans I had? I had looked forward to joining the multiple births women’s club for fun and education. Happy with my new baby and empty for my other one, I alternated between joy with the one and grief for the other.

I write the above as a prelude to what happened that began my discoveries of pearls on the wings. A year or so after the death of my baby Brad, when I was still struggling with the loss, I wrote the following on a tablet and put it in an old trunk for safekeeping. Now I will share the account of this experience and testimony to set the groundwork for this book.

    Noted experience account

My baby son: son of my vows, son of my womb, now in the grave. Brad was his name, and emptiness remains; empty arms, empty heart, just emptiness all around and filling my nights with just emptiness.

My soul mourned in the cold, dark night, weeping in the emptiness and longing to hold my tiny son. I pulled the covers over my head, but
