Did you know that there are 25 billion chickens in the world? They have the greatest number of birds than any species of bird! This means that you no longer have to feel guilty about eating them, they won’t go extinct there are plenty to go around!
Unless you are a vegetarian or a vegan, everyone loves chicken! There are so many different ways you can cook chicken, fried, baked, sautéed, boiled, grilled and much more. You can also eat it with just about anything.
This is a book of mouth watering baked chicken recipes that you can enjoy for lunch or dinner. Before we get into the recipes, I have provided some interesting information about chicken.
Health Benefits of Chicken
Regardless of country or culture, the majority of people in the world eat chicken. It has been consumed and domesticated for thousands of years. According to research, the consumption of chicken began in India, and then other parts of Asia, on to Africa, Europe and then America.
According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) chicken has a high nutritional value containing sodium, potassium, magnesium, iron, calcium, protein, vitamin K, vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin A, vitamin B-12, vitamin B-6, vitamin C, niacin, riboflavin and thiamine. High in Protein: Chicken is a bodybuilders dream because of its high protein content. It contains 18 grams per 100 grams of chicken which is exceptionally high. Protein is an essential element of our daily dietary requirement and it is necessary for muscle building.
High in Vitamins and Minerals: Chicken contains a range of healthy vitamins and minerals that are essential for the effective functioning of the body. For example, vitamin B boosts the immune system, regulates digestion, prevents heart disease and improves the nervous system.
Vitamin D strengthens the bones and helps the body to absorb calcium.
Minerals such as iron prevent and cures anaemia and help to form haemoglobin.
