About Leather and Lace
The Ruby City Roller Girls are a small Midwestern roller derby team previously ranked 250 in the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association, but a new coach and a fresh batch of players gives the team the opportunity to go all the way to playoffs. Will the small team achieve big things this season? Or will they get too distracted by all of the fun, flings, and real romances they experience along the way?

Secret Identity
June Delaurier had a secret identity. By day she was a mild-mannered administrative assistant at a mail-processing plant, but at night she was Bloc Holliday. It was her first season on the Ruby City Rollers. She’d tried out for the team once before and hadn’t made it, but after a year of skating outside, doing hundreds of squats in her living room, and tripping over tons of children at her local skating rink, she’d finally found her rhythm and was accepted onto the team.

Nate was tall, stocky, and blond, with a haircut that he had to put some effort into but not a lot. His friends probably had a broey nickname for him, like Buzz
or Ace
or The Natester
or something. He was one of those guys everybody liked, who made life look easy. He was funny, but he didn’t expect you to laugh at his jokes. He always wore cologne, but never too much.
Unfortunately, like everyone else at work, he thought she was a mousy nerd. If only he could know the truth, maybe
