Introduction
So, what exactly do you need to make the perfect popsicles, other than being a big kid at heart? We will give you a listing of the main ingredients and equipment you should have when you are about to make these lovely frozen treats.
Equipment/Tools
Popsicles molds. This seems obvious, but it’s very hard to make them otherwise.
Although, I have at times used some small paper cups and popsicle sticks or large ice cube trays, having some nice popsicles molds is not a great investment. For less than $20, you can purchase a decent popsicles kit at any cooking store or department store. You can also benefit of having the following tools depending on the recipe.
A pitcher to prepare the juice-liquid used in popsicles.
A blender if using fresh fruits and other ingredients needing to be blended.
Measuring cups and measuring soups so you can follow the recipe to a tee are essential.
A fruit peeler and a mesh strainer are also often needed.
Anything else, we will tell you as we go can be easily purchase at your local store.

Fruits
Fresh or frozen fruits should be used as much as possible. If you are using fresh fruits it is critical to choose them when they are perfectly ready. This way, you will not have to add much sugar when preparing a recipe. I even suggest for you to look for the ones that are overripe. Often at the grocery store, there is a sale section for the fruits that are very ready. Your local farmer’s market also is a great option, ask them directly to look for the fruits they are about to throw away. They typically will cut you a great deal and you can use them
