NOTES

INTRODUCTION

IN THIS AGE of information overload there is not a more important book than the Bible—the Word of God—to enable you, to guide you on the path of righteousness, and to keep you victorious over the sinister plans of Satan to destroy your destiny and hold you captive to his demonic control.

I know many people who continue living in poverty and bondage even though they go to church, carry a Bible, say a daily prayer, and are morally upright. They have absolutely no idea about the tremendous legacy and abundant promises Jesus Christ left to all of His followers after His death on the cross; and their lack of knowledge is creating a barrier to their promises.

There was a time in my life when I was a miserable Christian—feeble, poor in spirit, downhearted, and with a low self-esteem. I loved God, but I was not enjoying His promises. Knowledge of God’s Word kicked in one day, and my headlights went on. God vividly reflected them on my enemy and exposed his lies. Since then I am a sold-out believer, always thinking outside of my limits and determined to enjoy every blessing God has ordained for me.

My mentality changed because I allowed my mind to be renewed by the Word of God. I am learning to think like Him, act like Him, walk like Him, talk like Him, and smell like Him; and today I am enjoying many of God’s promises. I am learning to walk every day in plenty, never in lack. Satan has no place in me. I refuse to live in fear, apathy, discontent, or with a negative attitude. I sincerely enjoy my spiritual blessings. I love to persistently study God’s Word to see what is there that I’m missing out on. When we take God at His Word, He absolutely loves it.

This 365-day devotional guide is filled with biblical promises and principles that will help you to apply God’s Word to each day, each hour, each moment of your life so that you and your loved ones can live the supernatural, miraculous abundant life God promised to His children.

As you walk in obedience to God’s Word, you will have an open door to all the tremendous benefits of salvation in your life. The Holy Spirit will be watching and listening attentively to see how He can help you and respond to your needs.

As you commit yourself to daily communication with God through the Word and prayer, you will be trained in spiritual warfare to defeat the enemy’s attacks, and you will begin to experience the power of God to transform your life with healing power and miraculous blessings. This guide will encourage you to trust God for tremendous growth in your marriage and family relationships through forgiveness and restoration. You will be overwhelmed with the biblical promise of blessing through your children, and you will have the wisdom for establishing a strong, godly home for your loved ones.

I love the way Peter explains it in this passage.

Everything that goes into a life of pleasing God has been miraculously given to us by getting to know, personally and intimately, the One who invited us to God. The best invitation we ever received! We were also given absolutely terrific promises to pass on to you—your tickets to participation in the life of God after you turned your back on a world corrupted by lust.

So don’t lose a minute in building on what you’ve been given, complementing your basic faith with good character, spiritual understanding, alert discipline, passionate patience, reverent wonder, warm friendliness, and generous love, each dimension fitting into and developing the others. With these qualities active and growing in your lives, no grass will grow under your feet, no day will pass without its reward as you mature in your experience of our Master Jesus. Without these qualities you can’t see what’s right before you, oblivious that your old sinful life has been wiped off the books.

—2 PETER 1:3–9, THE MESSAGE

The moment you declare God’s Word and walk in obedience to it, the Holy Spirit acts upon His Word to perform it! Every time you decide to make one of God’s promises your very own, you will grow in your faith. Your spiritual muscles will develop, and you will gain inner strength to overcome all adversity.

The scriptures, advice, and experiences contained in this book have been of great value to me and my family. My prayer is that you will benefit in the same way that my family has benefited and has been blessed through the daily application of these scriptures and fervent prayers. God is faithful, and He will hasten His Word to perform it!

Apply these scriptures together with your prayers. As you do, the Holy Spirit will continue to show you other scriptures. Keep on trusting God and praying scriptures. You will rise above your circumstances. You will experience peace in the midst of adversity. God is not a God of confusion but a God of peace.

One of the things that I practice in my daily Christian walk is to announce and declare who I am in Christ Jesus. There is something unique and inspiring when you hear yourself declare a truth, especially about yourself. I declare my position in Christ when I’m taking a shower, driving, meditating, and even when I’m watching a movie or the news, or listening to music. Somehow it interjects in my mind, and I find myself unconsciously and consciously paying attention to something specific about my position in Christ. It has become such a habit that the scripture I can do all things through Christ who gives me the strength (Phil 4:13) is the first thing that comes out of my mouth every morning. Make this a habit, and the habit will become your identity!

Throughout these pages you will gain specific tools that will help you believe God for the impossible. You will learn how to pray and confess God’s Word for your situation, how to use your weapons of spiritual warfare, and how to set yourself or someone else free from any kind of bondage or torment from the past.

This book is about accessing the promises of God that legally belong to every child of God. Don’t miss out on this. Desire to know more of God’s Word and to know Father God intimately. It will open the door to all of God’s promises.

THE BENEFITS OF SALVATION

JANUARY 1

WHAT GOD HATH PROMISED

ANNIE JOHNSON FLINT was an orphan raised by foster parents who brought her up to trust in God’s faithfulness. When she was stricken with crippling arthritis, it became nearly impossible for her to walk, and she had to give up teaching. With foster parents dead and her sister frail and unable to care for her, Annie moved into a sanatorium.

There she began to write and sell poetry to pay for her stay and care. Even though she had no hope of recovery or relief, Annie penned poems attesting to God’s faithfulness. One of the last poems she wrote is titled What God Hath Promised. Two of the stanzas from that poem say:

God hath not promised skies always blue, Flower-strewn pathways all our lives through; God hath not promised sun without rain, Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.

But God hath promised strength for the day, Rest for the labor, light for the way, Grace for the trials, help from above, Unfailing sympathy, undying love.

Annie, along with millions of individuals past and present, learned that even though God may not always keep us from pain or difficult circumstances, He always walks with us, encouraging us and giving us grace to meet whatever challenges we face here on earth.¹

WHO JESUS IS

WE NEED AN awareness and true understanding of who Jesus really is to be able to experience what it really means to be in the presence of God. It is this awareness that ushers us into the realm of the impossible where sickness, addictions, shackles, curses, depression, and broken children and marriages are made whole and restored by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit.

God has a purpose and unique design for each of us, but God cannot have fellowship with someone who has a sinful nature. Because the nature of man is sinful, a spiritual death has to take place where the sin nature dies and man is born again in Christ.

Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before.

—ACTS 3:19–20

Heavenly Father, I am making a quality decision this day to rededicate my life to You. I pledge my heart and my entire being and everything that I am to You. I sincerely draw near to You and thank You for accepting me and helping me to recover what the enemy has stolen. Please forgive me of all my sins and iniquities.

JANUARY 3

WHY CONFESS OUR SINS?

WHEN WE ADMIT and confess our sins, forgiveness and cleansing take place in our lives. If people would only understand the life-changing consequences of forgiveness and cleansing from sin, they would be in line anxiously waiting to confess their sins.

Forgiveness means pardon, mercy, and compassion. Cleansing means purification, washing, purging, decontamination, and refining. It is not enough for a sinner to be forgiven. By cleansing, not only are all the sins, contamination, and dirty habits forgiven, but also the person is restored in his spirit, soul, and body. This is a miracle of restoration that only God can effectively produce in man.

If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action].

—1 JOHN 1:9, AMP

I have sinned, Lord, and I confess my sins. Forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Grant me the miracle of Your restoration in my spirit, soul, and body.

JANUARY 4

HOW CAN YOU WASH YOURSELF CLEAN?

FIRST YOU MUST desire a radical change and repent of all your known sins, habits, and characteristics that you know offend God and others. There must be a turning away from everything that is evil and causes you to be easily offended and angry. You must desire a profound transformation. If you constantly deal with impure thoughts and imaginations, if you have been deeply hurt, rejected, oppressed, abused, and wounded, the Word of God will help you receive restoration and God’s peace. The end result will be a deep contentment and joy in your heart. Your family and friends will notice the changes. God’s blessings will begin to flow in your life.

God is holy, and He desires honesty and sincerity from His children. As you develop faith in God and do everything you can to become obedient, loving, kind, and teachable, you will start noticing immediate changes, including peace, self-control, and wisdom to make decisions.

Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.

—PSALM 51:2, NAS

Heavenly Father, please forgive me. Wash me and set me free from all the sins of my parents and ancestors. I surrender my life to You.

JANUARY 5

REPENTANCE AND FORGIVENESS

REPENTANCE AND FORGIVENESS are two special gifts God has made available to break the power of Satan over us. Sin is a deadly trap that enslaves and chokes the life out of its victim. When I repent of all the things that I know do not please God, and I forgive and receive forgiveness, I must believe that God accepts me as His daughter and that I instantly become clean. I must determine to thrive and go forward with my life.

Inner transformation of the soul is a step-by-step process. You don’t have to bring to memory every minute detail of your past and all the bad things that transpired. God established repentance and forgiveness as the necessary process for healing of the spirit, soul, and body. God knew that without establishing these two priorities, a person would forever be spiritually handicapped.

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

—2 PETER 3:9

In the name of Jesus, I repent of anything I’ve done that has given the enemy entrance into my life and I receive Your forgiveness. I bind every assignment of the enemy against my family and me. And I loose the peace of God into my life.

JANUARY 6

GOD TRULY LOVES YOU

A LOT OF CHRISTIANS readily learn how to make positive declarations, decree abundance and prosperity, and make vows to seal their confessions and prophetic words, but they neglect to seek out help for the healing of their emotional and spiritual disorders. A visit to church, an inspirational concert, or listening to a motivational speaker will not do the work of the Holy Spirit in your heart to heal you from the emotional trauma you may be dragging around. To receive healing, you must believe in your heart that God truly loves you. God’s love is healing. Satan gains power over an unprotected heart by influencing the mind. God’s unconditional love is able and willing to restore all that Satan has perverted. Jesus paid the price to redeem us from spiritual death and to exchange a broken heart with a new heart.

Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh.

—EZEKIEL 11:19

Father, I receive the new heart You have given me, a heart that is willing to accept Your love and be healed from the past.

JANUARY 7

THE NEW COVENANT

THE NEW COVENANT is what opened the door for us to become participants of all God’s promises, and it was made possible through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. No longer are we subject to the rituals and sacrifices of the Law for the forgiveness of sin. We are now free to enter directly into His presence. As we read, study, and meditate on His Word and are led by the Holy Spirit, we become the beneficiaries of all God’s promises. This is our spiritual inheritance!

Jesus went to the cross, died, and was resurrected so that we could legally become His heirs to receive of His blood, His Word, His healing, His dominion, and His power over all the works of the enemy. What Jesus left us is a heritage we can enjoy right now and pass on to other generations.

But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

—JEREMIAH 31:33

Lord, You have promised that You will keep covenant and grant mercy with those who love You and keep Your commandments [Exod. 20].

JANUARY 8

MULTITUDINOUS PROMISES

THROUGH OUR UNION with Christ Jesus we can all enjoy exercising our faith and bringing into existence all of God’s promises. The Holy Spirit enables us to walk in authority and to rule and reign on earth, confident that God Almighty has promised to never depart from us.

The multitudinous promises cover all our needs for the whole of life, both here and hereafter. These wonderful promises fit our varied needs as the key fits the lock, and we can never find ourselves in any situation without an appropriate promise. Our petitions for temporal, physical, and spiritual blessings should be as detailed and specific as was the experiences of the saints of old.

What a stack of blessing you have piled up for those who worship you, ready and waiting for all who run to you to escape an unkind world. You hide them safely away from the opposition.

—PSALM 31:19, THE MESSAGE

Father God, thank You that I am able to come boldly into Your presence and receive Your grace. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for enabling me to walk in Your authority and to rule and reign on earth. I am a joint heir with Jesus according to the promise, and I no longer walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. In Jesus’s name, amen.

JANUARY 9

JESUS IS OUR GUARANTEE

GOD PROMISED IN Jeremiah 31:33 that His laws would be placed in the minds and hearts of all His children. No more external sacrifices. The old covenant was written on tablets of stone. The new covenant is the Spirit of Christ Himself dwelling in our hearts. The new covenant enables a believer to have a closer relationship with God. I will be their God, and they shall be My people (Jer. 31:33). It provides forgiveness for sin. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more (Heb. 8:12). When God forgives our sins, we immediately become His sons and daughters. The new covenant guarantees that we can go directly to God’s presence through Christ Jesus. No longer do we need another mediator!

Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant.

—HEBREWS 7:22, NIV

Father, Your Word tells me that because You have redeemed me from sin, I will be blessed coming in and blessed going out [Deut. 28:6].

JANUARY 10

POWER IN HIS NAME

THE NAME OF Jesus is all powerful. Every time we profess the name of Jesus, we are calling upon the highest and most supreme name in existence. Jesus was manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8). Demons tremble at the name of Jesus. Every believer has been delegated authority over all the power of the enemy, in the name of Jesus (Luke 10:19). When Peter and John faced threats and arrest from the priest and elders in Jerusalem, they reported it to their fellow believers, who prayed for them, saying: "Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus (ACTS 4:29–30). The Holy Spirit instantly responded, filling them all with His Spirit.

Then Peter said, Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.

—ACTS 3:6

Jesus, no other name on heaven or earth is as powerful as Your name. Thank You that You destroyed the works of the enemy and have filled me with the power of Your Spirit to do mighty signs and wonders.

JANUARY 11

GOD WILL SAVE YOUR CHILDREN

BELIEVE THAT GOD will save your children. It may be quickly, or it may take many years, but always remember that their eternal salvation is at stake. Don’t give up. Time is very short, and our journey on this earth will soon be over. Keep on believing in God, and do not let the element of fear and stress become a hindrance. Jesus is the burden bearer and the yoke breaker, and His anointing in your life will cause every demon to bow down to the name of Jesus. Be at peace, dear parent. Please don’t ever underestimate the power of God within you to deliver you and your loved ones out of the hand of the enemy. The Lord has promised in His Word to save our lost children. He will keep His promises to those who love Him with all of their hearts and who keep His commandments. Continue declaring the Word of God over your children, and you will see it performed in many miraculous ways.

Return, O faithless sons, [says the Lord, and] I will heal your faithlessness. [And they answer] Behold, we come to You, for You are the Lord our God.

—JEREMIAH 3:22, AMP

Help me, Lord, to train my children; my children shall not depart from God. Lord, keep my children strong in faith.

JANUARY 12

SURRENDERING TO GOD

AS YOU ENTER into spiritual warfare prayer do not be moved by the increased negative behavior of your child or loved one. Do not be moved by the lies and arguments, how your child looks at you, or by what he or she does.

Your child is not happy separated from God. Intensify your prayers and demonstrate your love when things seem to get worse. Submit your child to God. This is not something you can do with your own strength and strategies. Your dependence and control will only bring disappointment and failure. There must be a complete surrendering to God of all your cares and concerns. Only then will God be able to act on your behalf to perform His Word. Keep calm and receive God’s peace, especially when the storm is raging in intensity. Nothing confuses the enemy more than a child of God who is not moved by the tactics and strategies of the enemy.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives generously to all and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

—JAMES 1:5

God Almighty will save my children. My children will come back to God and their family. My children belong to the kingdom of God.

JANUARY 13

THE BLOOD COVENANT

IT IS ONLY through the power of the blood covenant that reconciliation (payment, agreement) and restoration are made possible. Man receives the new nature of God when he makes a decision to put on the new nature (the regenerate self) created in God’s image (Eph. 4:24, AMP). Christ Jesus already paid the price on the cross of Calvary.

Sin has always separated man from God. The blood covenant has given man a way out from eternal condemnation and an open invitation to eternal life by accepting Christ Jesus as Savior. This wonderful covenant is the answer to man’s suffering and all kinds of abuse. The penalty of sin is death, but the reward of salvation is eternal life in the kingdom of God.

For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

—MATTHEW 26:28

Father, I now choose to forgive everyone who has sinned against
