With the notable exception of player salaries, everything in baseball seems to be getting smaller. At the 2019 Baseball Winter Meetings in San Diego, there were fewer player transactions, fewer players, fewer minor league teams, fewer baseball card companies, and a considerably smaller trade show.
As Commissioner Rob Manfred pushes a plan to slice 42 minor league teams and several leagues, professional baseball also seems paralyzed
