Introduction
If you do not have time to take care of yourself, then sooner or later this topic will become your biggest problem.
Today, there are so many people finding it difficult to have, time to rest. We live in constant stress, permanent rush and after the day we only dream about resting in the armchair in front of the TV. The next day, the whole cycle repeats. However, was this the life of our dreams when we were teenagers and imagined what it would look like in a few or several years?
There is a principle called the synergy principle. This rule says that two things working together give more than each of them separately. Writing this book, looking for research, additional materials and making my own experiences, I noticed that there is probably no other field than a long and happy life in which this principle would be of greater value. When building a house, you have to take care of every aspect of it. So what if you brick well, if you don't make sure the walls are straight, it’s all useless. It is similar with us. Long and happy life is the effect of synergy between caring for our body as a powerful and fantastic machine and our mind as an incredibly efficient computer controlling it. Each of these 2 aspects can be divided into many other variables. Most of us are unaware of the existence of many of them.
I tried very hard to make this book interesting and practical. That is why, apart from many interesting facts, you will also find exercises that are so simple that you can apply them from today, and at the same time, so important that it is difficult to achieve any of your goals without completing them. I urge you to polemize. If you wish, you can find my contact at the end of the book. I will gladly read your story.
I wish you a long and happy life and fruitful results in achieving your goals.
Remember that the development of medicine today is incredibly dynamic, and in many cases the possibilities it opens up can be called miracles. However, even the best medicine is completely powerless if we do not take care of ourselves and eliminate constantly acting factors. Therefore, respect your money, because treatment is expensive and fight for yourself.
Ready? Let’s start our journey from something simple.
Movement is your best fuel
There are so many ways to make this rule come true. Let's see small children who are constantly running and have so much energy that many adults are jealous of it. Why is this happening? I have been a father for over 10 years and I am fascinated by the world of children. Every day, I am for a companion, trainer, teacher, playmate, friend who helps them solve daily problems, coach. I noticed one interesting thing. Small children move quickly as if they don't want to lose anything from what they see. The world is still undiscovered in their eyes and they are so much fascinated by it that they want to know it as much as possible and as soon as possible. What makes children have so much energy is a passion for what they do. Children are extremely curious about the world. Over time, however, this passion fades at our own request. To get it back, we must like what we want to do ... or even more ... we must fall in love with our activities. I know that I sounds a bit crazy, but let me explain it further. Now, choose one thing you really don’t like that should be on your task list, and do exactly what I ask you to do. Close your eyes and imagine what it would be like if you woke up in the morning, and as soon as you opened your eyes, you would feel immense joy that in a moment you would work on this activity. You can't live to see it. Imagine that you are extremely fascinated with what you are about to do. Think about those moments of tension that you feel around your stomach at the thought of doing that activity, and try to eliminate it. The principle is simple: What we think intensively about becomes reality.
To realize the importance of movement in our lives, we need to understand how many spheres it affects. Movement is an essential element in maintaining good health throughout our lives. It is necessary to feel good, smile and have immeasurable amounts of energy. It has a positive effect on our skeletal, muscular, joint and cardiovascular systems. As we can see, it covers all the mechanics of our body.
However, it should be properly selected taking into account our condition, purpose and age. A properly selected movement can protect us against many civilization diseases such as atherosclerosis, heart attack and obesity. It is said that movement is able to replace any drug, but all existing drugs in the world combined together cannot balance the benefits of movement.
Paradoxically, movement makes us relax better and more efficiently. Imagine that after a long work in the office, you come back home and you are exhausted. You have no strength for anything. In such moments, we are often afraid that the movement will further deepen this state. Nothing could be more wrong! One study at the Gallup Institute found that 20 people who regularly played sports had more energy during the day than before the start of systematic training.
Another study shows that 75 to 150 minutes of exercise (depending on their intensity) per week are enough to reduce daytime sleepiness by as much as 65%. It also significantly improves the quality of sleep, which further increases our energy during the day. Note that even 20 minutes a week is not so much, and even people who work intensively are able to find time for exercising in their schedule.
Have you heard about the Sechenov effect? The Russian scientist, Ivan Sechenov, proved that tired muscle parts regenerate faster if we set in motion those muscles that earlier have been less used. This principle is also the beginning of the development of active rest. It turns out that in order to rest well, you need to set our body in motion. Sitting in front of the TV or states of inactivity are not appropriate if we want to rest. Instead, it's worth going for a walk, for example.
A few years ago, when I started working for an international company, the first weeks were quite lazy as we were waiting for new tasks to come. As a result, we spent a lot of time waiting and I quickly noticed that doing nothing is more fatiguing than working hard. Increasingly, real fatigue may result from elevated stress level or simply being inactive.
However, what can we do if we feel too lazy to exercise? Here are some tips that, when used correctly, can create miracles.
1. Make up your mind quickly.
There is a theory that says that between decision making and
