Read all instructions before beginning this project.
Stitch right sides together using a ¼" seam allowance unless otherwise specified.
Materials and cutting lists assume 40" of usable fabric width for yardage.
WOF – width of fabric
Materials
•1 set of 40 precut 2½" strips in gradation from light to dark*
•⅔ yard dark print #1*
•1⅛ yards medium print*
•⅜ yard medium-light print*
•⅝ yard light print*
•¾ yard dark print #2*
•Backing to size
•Batting to size
•Thread
•Template material
•Spray starch (optional)
•Basic sewing tools and supplies
*Artisan Spirit Shimmer fabric collection from Northcott Fabrics used to make sample.
Cutting
From precut 2½" strips cut:
• 35 (2½ × 5¼
) A rectangles
• 35 (2½ × 9¼
) B rectangles
• 35 (2½ × 13⅜
) C rectangles
From dark print #1 cut:
From medium print cut:
• 7 (2¼" × WOF) binding strips
From medium-light print cut:
From light print cut:
• 8 (1" × WOF) G/H strips, stitch short ends to short ends, then subcut into:
2 (1 × 66½
) G and 2 (1 × 49½
) H flange strips
From dark print #2 cut:
• 6 (3¾" × WOF) E/F strips, stitch short ends to short ends, then subcut into:
2 (3¾ × 60
) E and 2 (3¾ × 49½
) F border strips
Completing the Blocks
1. Using pattern provided, make a triangle template from template material.
2. Center and stitch one each A rectangle, one B rectangle and one C rectangle together as shown in Figure 1 to make an A-B-C unit. Press.

3. Using the triangle template, trim the A-B-C unit as shown in Figure 2.
