      Have you ever heard of passive income? Do you know that you can achieve a vast amount you engage in passive income? Well, as the job market is increasingly migrating towards a system of temporary arrangements, it’s hard to believe that not very long ago, a person could expect to work for a single company for many years and then retire, secure in the fact that the company they gave their life to would, in turn, take care of them. As company pensions are quickly becoming extinct, those who are part of the workforce today need to be ready and able to sustain themselves when they retire.

      In a real sense, passive income implies that you do not have to be directly present to make money, but it still requires effort in the beginning and some maintenance afterward. The reality is, to create passive income, you need to be much more involved than most people think, but it may still be worth it.

      In today’s workforce, relying on one source of income is risky. Job security is rarely guaranteed, and a little extra cash is always useful. By using your primary source of income to cover necessary expenses, you can use extra income streams to pay off debts, reduce your financial burden, or avoid going further into debt by being able to pay for larger purchases up front rather than with a credit card or loan.  Aside from the fact that it’s a great way to make extra money on the side, creating multiple income streams is a smart way to keep your finances more secure. In the event that you lose one of your jobs or choose to go a different route, you’ll still have other sources of income to help you through the transition. 

      Unfortunately, in order to retire successfully, a retiree needs to have a certain amount in the bank if they want to continue living the lifestyle that they have become accustomed to. Simply put, the best way to ensure that you have the money needed when the time comes, is to start looking into passive income options as soon as possible. Passive income streams are simply money-making strategies that continue paying out even after you stop actively focusing on them. While many passive income entrepreneurs have gone fully digital, there is still some income to be made in the real world as well, which is why subsequent chapters will cover ways to generate a passive income in the digital, as well as the physical world.

      While saving for the future is an admirable goal, passive income is also the best choice for somebody who believes that they could be making more money, while doing less work. Although many people have accepted the 40-hour work week as a way of life until they die, in reality, active income simply isn’t enough for many people to cover their bills, let alone generate a level of wealth that can actually provide a comfortable life. If this sounds like you, then the sooner you start multitasking your income streams, the better.

      While setting up an income stream will require you to put in extra hours up front, with very little (if any) compensation, the amount that it ultimately brings in over time will more than make up for the amount of unpaid effort that goes into setting it up. Even better, once you have set up 4 or 5 different passive streams, you will one day realize that you don’t even need to worry about your day job anymore. Utilizing passive income streams will never mean that you are free from any and all work. It will simply imply that on average, you work much less than a person who makes as much as you do but generates it via active rather than passive income.

      In these increasingly uncertain economic times, knowing that you always have some passive income coming in can grant you financial security, as you know you are financially sound no matter what situation arises. While you may not be able to say goodbye to your current job right away, you will soon be amazed at how much less stressful it is once you don’t have to rely on it as your sole source of income. What’s more, having your passive income backing you up might just be the push you need to get out there and find an active income stream that you might actually enjoy. Regardless of where it leads to, one thing is sure - having an up and coming passive income stream is the first step to being the arbiter of your financial destiny.

      It is good to note that having a passive income is not a get-rich-quick scheme. Creating passive income requires front-loading, or investing a lot of time or money up front. It may take time to see amazing results, which is why it actually does take continuous work and maintenance on your part. In order to actually draw customers to your online business, you’ll have to continually find ways to market your business and, eventually scale it up in order for it to require less maintenance on your part.

      Although you can definitely drastically reduce the amount of time you spend working throughout the week, a passive income stream will never leave you fully passive. In order to ensure you have a well-rounded understanding of all aspects of your business, it is recommended that in
