Professor N.D.B. Connolly visits The Context of White Supremacy. Mr. Connolly is an assistant professor in the Johns Hopkins University Department of History. He examines the context of racism, capitalism, politics, and the built environment. His scholarship explores people's overlapping understandings of property rights and civil rights in the United States and the wider Americas. We'll investigate his premier publication, A World More Concrete: Real Estate and the Remaking of Jim Crow South Florida. He documents how Florida's "Magic City" was produced by an faithful oath to White Supremacy. He explains how eminent domain was used to confiscated black property, terrorize black families.
