“We had 10 days on Cape Cod, but after a problem with our B&B that forced us to vacate 3 days early, we got this book online and decided to take the ferry over to Martha’s Vineyard where we had the best time of our lives. Next year, we’re spending the whole 10 days here and leaving crowded Cape Cod behind!”
--- Morris W., Seattle

“Being Londoners who’d never been to Cape Cod before, we found our experience on Martha’s Vineyard to be the best thing about the whole trip. And we had a whole week AFTER Labor Day, when the entire place changes into another world. A truly magical place.”
--- Frederick H., London

    WHY MARTHA’S VINEYARD?

    vineyard-by-air

THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE—BECAUSE there’s no place quite like it anywhere in America. Yes, you might find some things in common between islands off Georgia or South Carolina, but none of them carry the same élan as Martha’s Vineyard. The type of people—dare I say the quality of people?—that trek to Martha’s Vineyard every summer are without doubt the best of the best. It’s a little like Sag Harbor, but more of it.

Here on an island that used to be a whaling center you have what some people call Hollywood East.

You get celebrities, yes, but also writers and academics and practically the entire East Coast Establishment intelligentsia. Conversation in the restaurants and bars always seems elevated to a fascinating level.
