    Acknowledgements

I would like to thank my bride, Dawn for letting me take the time to write this book. She has been faithful to follow me on this grand adventure with the Lord.

I also want to thank the multitudes of people who have helped me and Dawn grow spiritually; and who helped us with our ministry call. Specifically, I thank those who opened their homes to Dawn and I while we have traveled as missionaries. God used the following people mightily to advance the kingdom.

    Introduction

    V

alentine’s Day is a lover’s dream holiday. It is the time love birds show their affection towards each other. Cards, flowers, chocolates, and other gifts are often exchanged. This is a holiday for couples to refocus their attention on the other and rekindle the flames of love. Many people associate Valentine’s Day with a romantic connection with another person. However, what about fanning the fire in a person’s relationship with God?

14 Days in February is a holiday devotional written to rekindle your relationship with the people you love as well as the Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit. In the Book of Revelation, the Bible gives a significant warning about those who have left their first love. Revelation 2:4-5 says:

4 Nevertheless I [Jesus Christ] have this against you, that you have left your first love. 5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.

Not only is there a Biblical warning about losing your first love, but also about having a lukewarm complacency in your relationships. The Scriptures say in Revelation 3:15-16:

15 I [Jesus Christ] know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

The purpose of this book is to recapture the fire of your first love, so you can burn hot in healthy relationships. People can lose their first love with their spouse or God, by falling victim to neglect. Life happens. Jobs can become demanding. The family can grow. Financial burdens can increase. All of life’s demands can leave your relationships deflated. 14 Days in February will help mend your relational wounds and spark the first love flame.

On a final note, this book is intended to be read together by a married man and woman. The activations are designed to fall inside a marriage covenant.
