EXPLANATIONS
½ = half
approx = approximately (more or less)
decorate = to make something beautiful with nice things
lukewarm = when you feel the temperature with your finger and it does not feel warm or cold

rise/ferment = allow the dough to grow bigger (it grows from the gas building up inside the dough) with yeast or a leavening agent such as baking powder
a pinch = usually used with spices, literally when you grab a pinch of the spice between your index finger and your thumb
tbsp = tablespoon
measure = measure the correct quantity of an ingredient by using a measure, such as a cup
butter and flour = greasing the inside of baking pan with butter and sprinkling with flour or breadcrumbs, to prevent the cake from sticking to the pan
turn out the cake = place a plate on top of the cake pan and turn it upside down
tsp = teaspoon
whisk = this is done with an electric mixer or with a hand whisk to trap air inside the
