I Understand Life - Do You? - Anise Lanehart
Dedication
To my mother, thank you for raising me, my sister, and my brother to the best of your ability. I really appreciate everything that you’ve done for us. Thanks for your prayers, your guidance, your trust, and most of all your love. May the lord keep on blessing you forever and always. You will always mean so much to me. Continue to believe in the lord and stay strong. Love, your son. Anise Lanehart.
To my father; although you weren’t in my life at the beginning, I want to thank you for fathering me. In life, we can’t choose our parents, and that’s ok with me because you are a great example of a father. My only regret is that we didn’t meet sooner, but I’m so happy I got a chance to meet your side of the family. I will continue to visit, with the lord’s grace and blessings.
To my brothers; Kendrick Lanehart (cato) and Fred Wiggins.
I love you both. Keep reaching for greater height in life and know that God’s got it.
To my only sister; author M.A. Lanehart…thank you for inspiring me to finish my book! I will love you forever.
To my grandparents on both sides, my aunts, uncles, cousins, much love. A special shout out to my aunt Leedora Lanehart (Bester) thank you for much guidance, and love, my cousin, thanks for being my cousin, being there for my girls when they needed her. My oldest daughter’s mom; Lavette, thank you for giving me two beautiful girls and being there for me. To my daughters: Tiara, Shanpai, Ann, and Taijeanea. I love you all forever.
Introduction
I wrote this book from my life experience from things that I have seen, walked through, and now even understand. It’s simply a message for anyone who chooses to read and apply. Our younger generation in particular, yet I consider it to be a chronicle of life and learned lessons for anyone. I was born in Greensboro, Alabama. My grandmother brought my mother, my sister and I, and all of my mother’s siblings to Michigan. Between my mother and one of her sisters, there were only 5 of us children at the time. There was my sister Mary, and our cousins Perry, the late Carolyn (neicy), Fredrick and I. From what I was told, I had seen my father once as a small child, but of course I don’t remember. It took me twenty-five years to be man enough to forgive my father for not being in my life. I experienced a lot of things while my mother raised me. Some good, and some not so good. I thank her for doing the best she could while raising my siblings and I. I had three beautiful daughters, by three different women. That situation made me respect all women because I realized that I didn’t want my daughters to be disrespected. So I decided that I needed to change, and I promised myself that I would always be there for my girls. Later I had a fourth daughter with my oldest daughter’s mother. I am blessed with ten grandchildren, and of course my great grandmother had a chance to see them. I also had a chance to spend time with her. She is the sweetest old lady, and so is my grandmother on my mom’s side of the family. She is blessed, and still with us today. Young folks, if you ever want real wisdom, sit down and spend quality time with your elders. I made a habit of that just as I still do to this day. You can learn a lot from your older family members. I thank God all the time for allowing me to have my family in my life, and most of all, I thank him for connecting me to my father and my little brother. A child should always know their back ground and where they come from. Meeting my father again after years of not having him around impacted my life in a very positive way, and I am very grateful to the lord. He made it happen.
CHAPTER 1
Why is there so much hatred in the world today?
Why is there so much hatred in the world today? Can’t we all just get along? Does it really matter that the person donating a kidney is black, and the person receiving it is Mexican? Does the color of the person donating the heart really matter? I would hope not. But then, some
