    Intros, Warnings & Reasons

Thank you for investing in my words. In my life, I learned that being up front and raw about things is always the best policy. You can lie and front all you want, but after reading this and you still choose to dance for your money, then it’s on you. All I’m doing is giving advice I wish was given to me before stepping onto a stage. People do what they want, so don’t blame me for wanting to help somebody’s little girl get in then out the game.

If you want to know: I’ve been at this for some years, mostly in Miami. I’ve danced at high end clubs, in ghetto spots, and hole-in-the-wall joints where space was very limited. I’ve seen things, been around people I thought I’d never meet, and even became friends with those in society seen as role models where they’re from. This hustle has opened my eyes to how low some men will go while being wild and free, and how far gone some women will stoop to make an extra dollar. And because of this, I’ll be sure to help you avoid these unnecessary traps.

To the normal women reading this, who go to school and/or working those 8, 12, and even 16 hour shifts, some of what I’m saying in this book, you can use in everyday life. I can tell you a few things about what can set you apart from others when in a competitive job environment. And yes, please believe that I know some moves that’ll have your men appreciate what you do for him.

Remember, those who decided on their own freewill to shake what they got, they could’ve jumped into the daily grind, but chose this route. So don’t cry if you get caught up because you ain’t want to listen to what I suggested. I write this out of love and hope that you find your way into something else, for in time your cute little body ain’t going to last.

Slimmer girls, with better bodies, and younger faces turn 18 every day, so how are you going to keep up after a while? There are exceptions to the rule, but do you really want to take that risk?

Games are meant to be played, so you must know when to quit while you’re ahead, or lose it all. In time, you’ll see what can make or break you. I just want to see you at the winners circle, gaining a world of knowledge without losing your mind, body or soul.

Why I started may differ from why you’re starting. But with every major choice in a person’s life there are always reasons, so I’ll get into what I’ve come across in this portion of the manual, on why some girls get into this game.

Some of the girls I’ve encountered before they reached 18-years-old was either of the following:

Rebellious kids who did what they wanted to do.

    Teenage runaways or teenage mothers.

Sexually abused and felt their physical beauty is what made them special.

Met a pimp who put her under his guidance.

Came from negative and dysfunctional family environments with drug abuse, sexual abuse or alcoholism.

They had weak father figures or none at all.

Other girls without the harsh backgrounds, while in their teens, probably thought that being a sexy exotic dancer was glamorous and empowering in a way. Some had an older cousin or female friend they looked up to who danced, and saw how well they got paid and dressed nicely. In certain situations, the two family members or friends may start working at the club together.

Few that I’ve met were intrigued through rap music videos as kids, or overheard uncles and older male cousins talking about the strip club. While some were sick of being broke, and didn’t want to work an entry level job for low pay. Others got pregnant by a guy who ran off, and some just thought they had what it took to be a dancer then went for it once they turned 18, 19 or 20.

The girls between the ages of 21 and 28 who jump in are either:

Out on their own with bills piling up.

In college or technical school, and they can’t pay tuition fully.

Worked a normal job but something major like a pregnancy, their man got locked up or important family member got sick.

As stated before, a pimp may guide them into the game.

Have a criminal record and found it hard to get a job.

A friend suggested they try it along with them.

A small few actually dreamed about being a dancer when they were younger.

All in all, it boils down to money in the end. How each person spends their cash is their business, but what’s needed to survive shall always cloud our best judgments, especially when you don’t have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of.

    FAIR WARNING

Fast money is don’t last money is a motto you better keep in mind. You’re heading into a game where much of the seven deadly sins can show up on a weekly basis. You will get to know the pride of diva dancers. You will witness the avarice of the hustlers who spend the big money. You will be approached by lust filled—sex craved customers. The envy of the whorish and slothful dancers who sleep around for small amounts of cash will be heard in their snide remarks. You will be told rumors of the gluttony of owners who stand to make millions off your labor, but beware the wrath of jealous lovers or rivals in a beef over who knows what.

You’re going to meet people in this game who share similar interests, and even view as a close as family. But do know, until you thoroughly know those around you – you have no friends. Everybody isn’t your enemy. But keep an eye out because people will try screwing you over emotionally, sexually and/or financially. You’re a pretty girl seen as meek by most people, so be smart about what you do next.

You’re heading into a field where nakedness or partial nudity is a key requirement. Customers will touch you in ways, or say things you truly don’t want to hear. Some nights will be so slow that you end up owing money to the club, if you’re at a low end spot. And there are always new girls or seasoned dancers trying to outperform and out sell you, if you can’t sell yourself to the customers.

You’re heading into a field where weak minds either end up on drugs, become alcoholics, abused or pimped by certain kinds of customers, or just plain lose their minds or faith in humanity. Some people may know of your life as a dancer, and automatically stereotype you in the worst ways. The moral and/or religious folks may judge you, knowing they don’t have any right doing so, but need someone to insult so they can feel better about their backsliding. Family and close friends may judge you harshly as well because they feel you can do better.

You’re going to be asked why are you here, or told you’re too pretty to be in this club. Your parents, if they care, may be disappointed or even angered by your choice— feeling they let you down somehow. If you have a kid or kids, people may assume you’re an unfit parent, and feel they must keep tabs on you and your kid(s).

Regardless of the fact you get topless or naked for money, you’re still a woman who deserves respect, who’s having a tough time for now. But these are but a few things you must keep in mind. I’m not trying to scare you straight—you’re grown do what you want, but know that I do this because I care. The names of clubs in Miami have changed – the names and faces that frequented these spots have come and gone.

Nothing stays the same except how this game is played. For example, two clubs that exist as of now (November 2015) in Miami are Tootsie’s and G5ive Miami. Tootsie’s was a normal sized club in a small shopping plaza—now it’s in what was a large warehouse. G5ive was called Diamonds, until it got sold to new owners.   The main point I’m making about the backgrounds of these clubs is the fact that you aren’t doing anything new. So if you think you’re coming in to change the game, be larger than life – many have tried, but so few break free to bigger and better things. This is a stepping stone and not a lifestyle, and don’t ever forget that.

So once again I ask: So you want to be a stripper?

    Chapter 2

Nothing to it but to do it

After debating and pondering whether or not you want to dance, the next step is figuring out which club you can fit into. Be sure to scout the clubs you heard about first to see the environment, and ask the dancers some questions. You must find out if the place is safe and has standards.

Most classy clubs tend to look for what’s called the Baby Doll or Barbie look, which can either be petite and sexy or tall and fashion model like. Thickness (nice round butt, top heavy or both) is cool, but it must be tone, with little to no belly or body fat. Most good looking girls with thickness dance at popular urban clubs.

Some clubs allow plus-sized dancers, or women with body deformities such as scars or stretch marks. But do know clubs that accept most body shapes and types, their level of quality, safety and customers goes down. You’ll be dancing at your own risk by doing so. Always know, if the club doesn’t make you feel safe then don’t dance there. You can make money in all clubs, but in well-to-do places you’re nearly guaranteed to make good money.

What you want to look for when it comes to a decent club:

Security that wears a dress shirt, tie and jacket/blazer.

The club having a liquor license.

If the club is a topless or nude bar because fully nude spots tend to be shady.

Customers following a dress code or they can’t enter.

I implore that you workout and eat right ahead of time. Regardless of how fabulous you may be as a person, this is a business geared toward the fantasies of men. Most men of means like seeing slim, fit and tone— or fit and tone thick women (hourglass figures or pear shaped women). So please put your ego to the side and get your body right. The more appealing you are the more money you can make at the right clubs. Plus you must remember, pole dancing classes are workouts, so if you aren’t in shape for the pole, you won’t look good and can even get hurt on stage.

Unless they’re having an open audition for girls at a club, go to the club by yourself where you know your body type is accepted. Auditions can be fierce because the girls auditioning may be veteran dancers who already have the skills for the job. Always go in the daytime, and when you do, ask an employee of the club for the day shift or day manager. Someone who has say in hiring a girl will come out to see how you look like. If they approve, they’ll give you an application, Independent Contractor form or a Sub-Contractor form to fill out. They’ll also ask for a picture I.D., and what your dancer name will be on your application.

Quick Advice: When picking a dancer name be sure to give yourself one that will leave customers wondering who you are after they hear it. The right name will set you apart from the competition quickly.

More Quick Advice: I got this suggestion from a business consultant friend of mine. He suggested that dancers who are given sub-contractor or independent contractor forms should get their dancer names registered as a Limited Liability Corporation (LLC). This way you can treat your short-term gig dancing as a legit business you can pay taxes on. You can also build credit and invest in other things such as real estate in the future, if you plan things out properly. Get a business lawyer
