ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

I would like to take a moment to appreciate the support I have received from both my biological, my spiritual family Jesus Christ to all Languages (JTL) and all who were involved in the publishing of this book. If I were to mention everyone the list would be endless so I cautiously want to make a prayer of thanksgiving and gratitude for everyone that has played a role. May God bless you.

Special thanks to my biological father and founder of JTL global, Rev. Kiluba Wa Kiluba; whose teachings, prayer and unique approach to scriptures made this piece of writing possible.

FOREWORD

Many believers know the story of Christ's sufferings from His arrest to His crucifixion; but few of them stop for a moment to search the depths of this suffering. Is it not written, The glory of God is to hide things, the glory of kings is to search things. Proverbs 25: 2.

The sufferings of Christ embody great mysteries that we must search and understand in order to derive benefits from them. Nowadays, many of us do not enjoy the full benefits of Christ's redemption simply because we have not attained a perfect and living faith in the hidden riches of the sufferings of Christ.

How can one have a perfect and living faith? It is through revelation and deep understanding of the mysteries of the sufferings of Christ. Faith in itself is the good vision of Christ's sufferings. Just as Moses regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt; so the Church must look upon the riches embodied in the sufferings of Christ as superior to the riches of the world.

This piece of writing is fundamental and relevant because it reveals to us the mysteries of the riches embodied in the sufferings of Christ. It is through such revelations that living faith can be formed in us, and giving us access to the riches of the sufferings of Christ.

I sincerely recommend that you read this book because it will be very beneficial to your Christian life.

PROLOGUE

Suffering is a reflective moment for anyone going through it. When one is suffering it is natural to desire empathy. In my career as a doctor, I am constantly exposed to peoples’ suffering which at times reminds me of my own. There have been moments of great reward when I have empathised and even shared my own experiences with patients. Their anxious faces soften when they realise that they are not alone in their sufferings. Furthermore, they are encouraged by how others handled their sufferings and emerged victorious. In these moments I have realised that shared human experiences are more therapeutic or at least an important support to modern medicine.

It is interesting to see that in minor ailments and at times even in critical conditions, patients are more worried about day-to-day matters than their illness. Patients may utilise a medical encounter to offload social, spiritual and psychological issues on their physician. As a pastor, I find myself privileged in this occasion; to alternate between my two callings of ministry and medicine. I often find myself conflicted in the sense that I may lean in one direction more than the other. However, the Holy Spirit is always of help in striking the balance.

In the process of interacting with the people’s predicaments, I have come to realise that my own experiences come short of providing me with a complete understanding of what the patient
