About this ebook

This book is the result of my learning that I have Tinnitus, what it is and my options for dealing with the problem.

I have suffered with Tinnitus for over 35 years. I had been checked by several doctors over the years and was told that either they couldn't find a problem or there was nothing that could be done. I learned how to deal with it. I have never been one to complain about the hand I have been dealt.

I recently saw a commercial on TV that told me there were things that now could be done. What you see in this eBook is the results of my research and experiences. While I was doing my research, I found that there isn't a cure at least at this point in time. I was open to considering the use of pharmaceutical solution to help in the treatment process but learned that as of 2013 there wasn't a FDA approved drug available.

In the past, the only thing that hearing aids were able to do was give some amplification which can help in some cases of Tinnitus but may not be able to help in all situations. The solution I found has been available for about a year and half at this point. It does this by masking the sound of Tinnitus you are hearing. With technology being in a constant state of evolvement, things will only get better. Maybe someday there will be a cure for Tinnitus, for today, we can at least treat the symptom.

These are just my experiences. The results you experience may be different from mine.
It is my hope that in reading my book is that it will save you some of the research that I have had to go through.

    Disclaimer

Unfortunately in this world of lawsuits, I want to make the following disclaimer.  I have no medical training.  Everything that I have written about here is about my own experiences or as a result of research that I did.  Your results may vary and probably will be different from mine.  My goal with this book is to help get the word out that there are possible solutions to the Tinnitus that I suffered with and that you may be dealing with.  What you will read about here is what I have ordered for my personal use.  If I haven’t ordered an item I am discussing but that it is something that I would be looking at in the future, I will indicate that.

Throughout this eBook are links of the items that I will be talking about.  While the tax regulations in my state prevent me from taking advantage of Amazon’s affiliate program, I hope that these links will save you some of the research time and help you get a similar level of relief from tinnitus that I have found.

    Your Free Gift

As a small token of thanks for buying this eBook, I would like to offer a free bonus gift exclusive to my readers.  I will send you the list of all the items mentioned in this eBook.  It should save you some time in doing the research that I did on my question of learning how to deal with Tinnitus.

    How to use this book

There is a method to the madness in this book.  Please take a few minutes to read this and everything else will make sense.  You don’t have to read the book cover to cover to get good information from it.  I have tried to name each chapter something that should address a specific problem.

When you see the word VIDEO in a chapter, the URL and QR code that follows directly link to a video on YouTube.  This goes into more detail about the chapter you are reading or about the product or technology just discussed.  If you want to skip ahead, all of the Videos for this book are in the same playlist on my channel, TechBytesRN, on YouTube.  Your first video for this book is below.  The other videos that you will see throughout the book will related to items being discussed in a given chapter.

There are also links throughout this book with direct links to where you can purchase the same items that I have.  Some or all of the links you click on may be affiliate links that I will receive a commission if you purchase the selected item.  This will not change the price that you pay.

    QR Codes in this book

You will see a series of QR codes in this book.  I have put these in here as an experiment.  Whether you are reading this on a laptop or a kindle reader, these barcodes will give you a way to go to the information that the QR code covers.  Since this is something that you may not have worked with before, I will give you the links to the resources I have used.

The first QR code will be for your smartphone -

    Android - http://www.tinnitusmystory.com/aqrc

    IOS - http://www.tinnitusmystory.com/iqrc

Both of these apps are from the folks at Scan, Inc.  I prefer to use the same app from the same vendor on any platform I am working on.  Found that it helps minimize troubleshooting issues if they arise.

This next series of apps will be for laptops and desktops.  My criteria for selecting an app for this platform was that the potential for not having a camera was a possibility.  My reasoning is that if I am reading a Kindle book on my laptop/desktop that having a camera to read the QR code from the book would be unlikely since I couldn’t point the camera that is built into the screen in a direction that it could read the screen.  I used apps that would essentially be a screen scraper like app that would allow me to read the code and be able to take action with the code.
