First and foremost, I would like to acknowledge my almighty Saviour, Jesus Christ. With his many blessings bestowed upon me, I’ve had the opportunity to accomplish one of my biggest goals and dreams of becoming a Writer/ Author.

He has made it possible for me to expand my mind in efforts to create stories and characters that will later be transformed into fictional novels, in which many of us can relate to, in some form or fashion.

Secondly, I would like to thank my mother and family, all of whom have been very supportive in helping to accomplish my dreams.

My husband, Lee, who constantly keeps me focused, and on the right track.

Special thanks to the owner of Network Media One and the Get your praise on television show, Floyd L. Donald. I certainly appreciate you and your staff for providing one of the media platforms for the promotion of my novels.

Thanks to my pastor, Rev. Glenn Barnes Sr. and first lady, Ladawn Barnes of Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff. My sisters in Christ, Carolyn Mayweather, Corlis Kinchen, Kathy Frazier, and Shirley Biley… You ladies made me feel very loved and overwhelmed when you all bombrushed me in church to receive an autographed copy of my first novel, soon after hearing of the release.

You are the epitome of beautiful Christian women, spreading the love of Christ.

Thanks to Mrs. Lucille Davis, Mrs. Maeola Tyler, Mrs. Dorris Burt, Mrs. Jeanette Green, Ashley Green, Mr. and Mrs. Columbus Higgins, Mrs. Alberta Stokes, Mrs. Reed, Mrs. Roberts, Sarah and Alexander Price, Shanta Thurman, Tonya Bateman, Sonya Jones, Arlene Moss, Tammie Patty, Mr. Stancio Battles, Carla Pugh, and far too many other members of Pine Hill to mention. CHAPTER

    1

She remembered the very strong, distinguished smell of the train, all too well. And the long narrow aisles that led to that horrible place where her worst nightmare lye.

Yet Kerra is determined to face her fears, and hope to soon put this all behind her.

Although this is a completely different train, the smell and scenery somehow entranced her, while drawing out hidden memories that linger fresh in her mind, as if it only happened yesterday.

She figures if only she could manipulate her thoughts into a somewhat pleasant state, for the next couple of days of this train ride she may then begin to place things into proper perspective.

As Stormy and Tony boarded the train, Kerra slowly followed behind, dragging her bag.

Stormy is ecstatic to finally head back home to reunite with her son, Lil Mike, after the one year prison sentence forced their separation.

Despite the anticipation of getting back home to him, Stormy doesn’t regret having being forced to postpone the reunion, so that she could spend a few additional weeks at the hospital, looking after her best friend Kerra.

It had been five weeks since the brutal rape. Yet Kerra was having flashbacks that consequently led to a minor breakdown.

Carefully considering the circumstances, the doctors suggested that she remained under their care for further observation.

Stormy’s friend, Tony, whom she’d previously met on the train, was truly dedicated to being by their side the majority of the hospital stay. Tony’s brother, Jeffrey had also taken a few days off from his job, and decided to spend that time with Kerra.

The two of them appeared to be hitting it off pretty well.

Although Kerra wasn’t sure how this long distance relationship was going to work out.

She really didn’t have any intentions on moving to Memphis Tennessee, and Jeffrey certainly didn’t have any plans on leaving his job, and moving to Arkansas.

Yet he and Kerra agreed upon giving the relationship a fair chance, once Kerra was situated.

Soon after escorting Kerra onto the train, Jeffrey gave her a hug, and promised to come to Arkansas to visit her in a few weeks.

He shook his brother, Tony’s hand and wished them all a safe trip. He then got into his vehicle and drove off.

Kerra watched, as he drove away into the sunset with his convertible top dropped on his sports car.

She sometimes wondered will she ever see him again. Although those thoughts didn’t venture in her mind very long, being that she hadn’t really spent enough time with him to have obtained emotional attachment.

And maybe he just happened to be there at the right time to serve as a comfort zone. After all, he was Chief of Police in his hometown, and was responsible for apprehending the guys that raped her. Yet, she wasn’t sure if that was enough to generate a love connection.

Besides, there were much more important issues that she needed to deal with.

Tony appears just as excited as Stormy. He can hardly wait to arrive in Arkansas to pick up Lil Mike, so that the three of them can head back to his home town of Memphis, to unite with his son Corey, and begin their new life together, as planned.

This was the best news that his son had encountered in quite some time.

The possibility of Tony bringing Lil Mike home to become the little brother he’s always wanted, made the wait worthwhile for Corey.

As they proceeded to scroll through the aisle, Tony managed to find a seat for the
