Dr. Raul A. Medina

Dr. Raul A.Medina Founder of Liberty Tabernacle Family Worship Center founded as a non for profi t organization in 1997. Liberty is a ministry that has spent the better part of 20 years reaching a population of people that most people couldn’t or wouldn’t reach. Preaching in the streets at night; in the crack ally’s and street corners of our inner cities, giving him the name, “THE VOICE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS.” Because of the call, his ministry reached out into the streets of Camden, Trenton, connecuit, NewYork, and Atlantic City. Just to name a few as well as the Philippines, and throughout Europe. Dr. Medina was running drug rehabs, homeless shelters as well as a soup kitchen, that fed many people on a weekly basis, until his near fatal car accident, leaving him hospitalized for nearly two years, thus leaving the outreach ministries no option but to shut down. Now a quadrapalizic Dr. Medina says quitting is not an option. Dr. Medina is still willing and ready to preach the word. Dr. Medina is now looking to reach out to the most vulnerable group of people and truly underserved population. Reaching out to those who have experiences with disabilities. Th e vision Dr. Medina has had for over 20 years to reach lost souls is still at the heart of his Ministry. Dr. Medina was a part of a great out pouring of Gods spirit, seeing countless miracles. Th e lame walk, deaf to hear, the oppressed set free and the lost saved. Dr. Medina is longing to be a part of ushering another great out pouring even greater than that of the days of old, believing what the word says, the laterrain shall be greater than the former.

    INTRODUCTION

In writing this book, it is my goal to open the eyes of your understanding through the Holy Spirit concerning the doctrine of deliverance, and demonic spirits. I hope that through this book and its simplicity that you will not only read and understand deliverance, but that you will be encouraged to minister the gospel in its entirety.

In almost two decades of ministering the word of God and praying for his people, I have seen and experienced things; both in and out of the spirit. I cannot ignore that deliverance is a valid ministry, both in the church as well as in the mission field.

I notice that the church and its leader’s would rather bury their heads in the sand; than confront this topic with the spirit of understanding. Through this book, I hope to dispel any and all misconceptions about deliverance and demonic spirits opening the eyes of our understanding, and stirring up a desire to see the captives set free.

I hope that through this book, I can remove all the doubt and fear that most Christians have concerning deliverance, at the same time giving you a working knowledge of the subject of deliverance, and with hopes; that your appetite is wet enough to provoke you into a deeper study on the subject of deliverance.

Deliverance is not the cure all. It is up to the individual to work out their own salvation, sometimes it’s just the flesh. Through this book; I hope you will learn how to discern the difference between a demonic spirit, and the need to crucify the flesh.

So may God bless you, and open up the eyes of your understanding as you read this book.

    CHAPTER 1

    Introduction to deliverance

Joel 2:32KJV and it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance …………

    What is deliverance?

Deliverance is the casting out, or expelling of evil spirits. What is an evil spirit? An evil spirit is a disembodied spirit, an evil spirit needs a physical body to dwell in. Evil spirits are cursed to feel what they cannot fulfill. That is why evil spirits need a physical body so that they can express themselves. A spirit of lust cannot act autonomously. That spirit needs you in order to feel all the pleasures that come from lusting. Sin is pleasurable; for a season according to the bible.

Hebrews 11:25KJV Speaking of Moses; choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season.

    1Thess 5:23 KJV

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

So man is first and foremost a spirit. Now stay with me. Man is a spirit, like God, so if God is spirit, and man is a spirit, then are we not like God? Look at it like this, man is a spirit he has a soul and lives in a physical body.

Genesis 2:7KJV When God created man it says, God breathed life into Adam in the Hebrew [naphach /naw·fakh/] means to blow or breathe. Let’s read it. Gen 2:7KJV And the LORD God formed man out of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Man became a living soul when God breathe into Adam’s nostrils, we must understand that man was created in God’s image. Man is a three part being. He is a spirit, he has a soul, and he lives in a body.

The word in the Greek for spirit is the same word for evil or demonic spirit. Pneuma, which is the English word for breath. So then what is an evil spirit?

An evil spirit is a disembodied spirit.

Matt 12:43KJV say’s, when the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest and findeth none.

Evil spirits have all the attributes of feeling’s, emotions, and the intellect, which is the mind.

An evil spirit needs a physical body to live in. Without a body, the evil spirit has no rest and it continues to seek for a body. An evil spirit is curse to feel what it cannot fulfill. This is why, that one way an evil spirit will exit the body is through sighs, yawns, crying, heavy breathing, etc. We will cover other manifestations’ through-out this book.

In the World English Dictionary one of its definitions for manifestations is the materialization of a disembodied spirit. Ponder on that for a moment.

There is times when evil spirits leave the body; they throw the body down, hissing and the facial features change shape, cutting, slivering across the floor, etcetera.

Mark 5KJV and they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes. ² And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, ³ Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: ⁴ Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. ⁵ And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. ⁶ But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him, ⁷ And cried with a loud voice, and said, what have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. ⁸ For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit. This man was not only living in the tombs but the word says he would cry and cut himself night and day.

No normal person would act this way. When someone is under the influence of evil spirits they can do things that are supernatural for man. Unclean spirit, or demons, these names are interchangeable, they mean the same thing. It’s worth mentioning here, there are also different types of spirits, like the spirit of fear

2 Timothy1:7KJV For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, love, and of a sound mind.

Notice Paul writes in second Timothy and identifies fear as a spirit; spirits have names.

In Mark 5: 9KJV Jesus asked the demonic what is your name, and he answered, legion for we are many.

And the spirit of infirmity in Luke 13:11KJV behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.

Just to mention a few. The manifestations will vary from person to person. Never the less we must be confident in the fact that we been given all power and authority over the Devil and his cohorts.

In Mark 9:KJV A man brought his son to the disciples of Jesus because he had a spirit that would through his son down and he would foam, and gnashed with his teeth, and (dried up or withered away – lay lifeless) when it manifested Jesus rebukes the disciples and called unto the man to bring his son to him

    Mark 9:20 KJV

And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tares him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming. ²¹ And he asked his father, how long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, of a child. ²² And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters,

To destroy him: but if thou canst do anything, have compassion on us, and help us. Jesus said unto him, if thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. ²⁴ And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. ²⁵ When Jesus saw that the people

came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge
