Where Do I Go from Here?: Going from Darkness to Living in God’S Marvelous Light

About this ebook
Dont fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear! Those who hear and dont act are like those who glance in the mirror, walk away, and two minutes later have no idea who they are, what they look like. (James 1:2224 The Message)
This book was written on authors life experiences. It focused on family hurts, pain, lies, deceit, and forgiveness. It brings the reader into the reality of family secrets: Whats done in this house stays in this house. This book shares a light at the end of the tunnel. It brings to the peoplewhether woman, man, boy, or girlthe hope that theres a way out and that past circumstances dont have to become our future. We can hold on to the thought that we can make it through any situation with the help of the Lord. Where Do I Go from Here? is also a book of mixed emotions. Yolanda Griffin

Where Do I Go From Here? is an open invitation to anyone who wants to understand that God covers and keeps us throughout it all, from birth to entrance into His kingdom. His love never dies! God gives us liberty even when we dont know how to grab it ourselves. Once we are set free, we are free indeed. I am a living witness that there is life after a divorce and that we are truly free to go after whatever God has for us. Hallelujah! Angela Lambert
I am not a book reader, but once I picked up this book, it was hard to put it down. Thank you, Teresa, for allowing God to use you to help others to open their eyes and see their true potential. May God continue blessing you and your family. Patrick A. Smith

Church in Opa Locka, Florida under the leadership of Pastor Ranzer and Reverend Rhonda Thomas, Sr. for over 15 years. Before joining New Generation Church I was a faithful member at Trinity Assembly of God Church for over 15 years under the leaderships of Pastor Art Shell. In both Churches I was a leader in different ministries. Now God has called me to further my learning at Hope Interdenominational Church, Columbia, SC under the leadership of Apostle Arnold and Pastor Judy Williams.

I thank my Almighty God through His Holy Spirit for helping me put words in writing that will help others come out of bondage.
I thank God that He is and has always still covering my children J’von, Jonathan, Teresita, Michael, Theresa, Valerie, Rilya and my other children and grandchildren. I thank my children’s father for the things he said and done to assist me in trusting God in spite of anyone else. I thank God for my mother and my sibling that saw me through all my ups and downs.
I thank God for allowing everyone that He had brought into my life to assist me in completing my book. I thank God for all of my nephew and sisters in ministry that assisted me and encourage me to publish my book.
I thank Pastor Ranzer and Rev. Rhonda Thomas, and the New Generation Missionary Baptist Church Family for all of your love a kindness you shown me for over the years.
My prayer:
My prayer is that any and every one that needs to be set free from any hurt or bondage in a relationship are set free by God through the power of His Holy Spirit. May the Holy Spirit give you true understanding of what and why we must trust God in all matter of our life? May God’s blessings always overflow and overshadow you.
Do you know Jesus Christ? If you don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus pray the below and make Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior today.
A Repentance Prayer
Father, I come to you today as a sinner that needs your forgiveness for my sins that I have committed physically, spiritually and emotionally. I ask you to come in and wash and cleanse me from everything that is not of you. Forgive me for not obeying and following your call on my life. I open the door of my life and receive you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for forgiving me and giving me eternal life. I ask you to take full control of my life. Thank you for making me the person you want me to be.
If you have received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, find a home church that will assist you in growing in Jesus. According to His promise in Acts 1:8 when you receive Him you shall receive the Holy Spirit as your comforter and teacher. 1 John 5:11-13 (NIV) And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
Always thirst after the wisdom of Jesus Christ for your life. Read the whole book of John to teach you how to live for Jesus Christ.
Have you been baptized? If you have not you should. Matthews 28:19-20 (NIV) Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
Always remember to seek God’s direction for all things and as you take steps in serving Jesus Christ there will be trials and tribulation that come but you will have His peace and understanding through it all.
As you start your new life with Jesus Christ seek a church that will give you the covering that you will need to be a disciple for Jesus Christ. You need this covering to keep you encouraged and strengthened to help build God’s Kingdom. Hebrew 10:25 (NIV) "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
INTRODUCTION
In my early years of life, I grew up in an abusive home. My father was a good man to me when he was not drunk, but when he got drunk he would become someone else. I will describe him as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. He did not abuse me but he abused my mother numerous times. My mother finally decided to leave him and she took my youngest brother, sister and I and we all moved to Miami, Florida in 1973.
I did not understand at the time why she made the move but as I got older, I understood. Many things happened in my family during our time living in Miami. As I got older, I began to seek God for answers to many of my questions about why bad things happened to my family. It was many years later when I saw my father again, but he was a different man. I knew he was different—not because of something he did but because of something that was allowed to happen to him. Over sixteen years ago, my father was hit by a truck as he was crossing the street. He suffered a head injury and lost his memory and did not remember any of his family including myself or my brothers and sisters. My father passed in May 2010 from the injuries he sustained from that accident. After my father was injured I was told by a family member that a pastor stated that God allowed this to happen to my father because of him abusing my mother many years prior. In Galatians 6:7 its said Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. (KJV)
This scripture tell us that whatever we do good (blessings) or bad (curses) we know that something will happen for everything we do in life. So, I know there is a reaping process for every step and actions we have done. I did not feel this was how God would have taken care of my father for his sin of abusiveness. Maybe I will never know if this is true or not.
Because of the accident I no longer have my father to talk to or to go visit with when I go back to Columbia, South Carolina to visit. We have been living in Florida for over 30 years since we left South Carolina. Therefore, when I hear people talking negatively about their parents it bothers me. I know we all dislike something our parents do or say but they are the parents God saw fit to give us. I also think about what my children thought about how I raised them. I often wonder about what my life would have been like if we had stayed in South Carolina. Nevertheless, God knows what His plan is for us even when we do not know.
My prayer for my children is that God is a part of every decision they make, especially in relationship matters. I also wonder if I raised my children how my parents raised me. Did I do a better or worse job? I believe I raised a good group of children. I think I raised them differently then how I was raised. I looked back through my memories of my childhood and I think about all the problems that my mom went through and she did the best she could with what life dealt her. As a young child and teenager, I was afraid of my own shadow and as a young adult, it did not change. I got into a relationship and had children within that relationship. Our children had to grow up within a home with parents that did not understand each other. I did everything I could to help my marriage survive but my husband did the opposite. In order for a relationship or marriage to work, it takes two people working together. If your partner does not
