About this ebook
My Prayer for Today
Holy Father, please fill all my vision, my life, my every thought, my every desire with Yourself alone. My head tells me there is no life outside of Thee; may my heart believe and daily practice this belief. You know my heart. Change it until all my heart is Yours alone. Real living is when I am living for You, and You alone. Every day I want to live only for You. Please use me today to help someone who is struggling to see the life and love of Jesus in my life, and come to know Your forgiveness and everlasting peace. Today and every day, I want to live a life totally committed to doing Your will with all my being. I want You to control and guide my life. Today I must realize that You are in all I do. May 1 Corinthians 10:31 (AFV) always be true in my life: Whether I eat or drink, or whatever I do, I do all to the glory of God! Dear Jesus, I have no life but Your life, no purpose or will but Your will and purpose, no breath but Your breath. Daily I long that Romans 14:8 (AFV) will be the consuming passion of my heart and life: Whether I live, I live for the Lord. If I die, I am the Lords. So, whether I live or die, I belong totally to the Lord.

Retiring after fifty plus years of pastoral ministry, Pastor Ron Logan believes there are three absolutes a pastor must continually practice: prayer, study of Scripture, and proclaiming God’s truth, and in that order. Out of this discipline has come Prayers in the Secret Place. Pastor Ron and his wife, Donna, are the parents of four married children. The Logans live near Niagara Falls, New York.

Introduction To Prayers In The Secret Place
, A Prayer Manual
When was the last time you sat still, folded your hands and quietly waited in the presence of Almighty God, your Savior and Lord, for more than two or three minutes without saying a word? Have you ever done this? It is most important that we learn how to become quiet, still and just wait in our Savior and Lord’s presence. Psalm 46:10 (KJV) reminds us, Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth! Right now be challenged and make a commitment in your daily prayer, and daily devotional time to be still and quiet before your heavenly Father. Don’t say a word, but silently wait in the sacred, divine presence of the One and only Almighty God of the universe, your Savior, Lord and eternal King! Be still, and know God!
As you open and begin to read this prayer journal, Prayers in the Secret Place
, my hope and prayer for you is that you will be blest, encouraged, strengthened and divinely thrilled, as I have been while writing these prayers over the last several years. I take no credit for what follows in this manual that is of divine worth and value. I have read and reread these prayers dozens of times, and still I am thrilled and blest at the amazing truths in these prayers that my heavenly Father has revealed to me, and I hope you will enjoy this same experience in your daily life adventure in prayer with your heavenly Father!
May I share with you a few simple observations as you read through this journal? Attempt to read and meditate on one or two prayers each day. Please, don’t hurry through this manual; rather, attempt to use it as a daily prayer devotional guide. May the following prayers help you in this regard: Prayer #15, #21, #25, #40, and #51. Also, begin practice writing out your own prayers. Make your own prayer journal. As you daily read these prayers, look for key statements. After all these years of writing and compiling this prayer manual, I almost lose my breath as I read some of these statements the Lord has revealed to me. Allow me to list just a few: Prayer #1, My total life, every second of my existence is eternally sealed and kept by Your Holy Spirit’s presence which is alive in my life. King of my life, I crown Thee, now!" Prayer #3, "I will never leave Your presence and You will never leave me." Prayer #6, Every day I can live a wonderful, fulfilling life if I will keep all my life totally committed to You." Prayer #11, You alone hold all the right answers to every question I will ever ask and every prayer I will ever breathe.
Prayer #17, I am divinely made and nothing in this world can destroy or defeat me.
Prayer #19, I am this moment and every moment, for the rest of my life, this day and every day until I breathe my last breath, Your child! I have nothing to fear or dread because my life, all my life is totally tucked away in Your everlasting love. Dear Lord Jesus, I am forever safe and saved in You!
Prayer #39, Right now, I walk out of my prayer closet with the greatest Person in all the world and in all the universe; my Father, and the Person of the Holy Spirit, who is alive and continually living in me! No matter who or what I face today, You and I, Lord Jesus, will face it together." Prayer #40, Father, thank You for continually loving me, and always holding me secure in Your eternal, everlasting presence.
Prayer #40, Father, I believe I am forever forgiven, forever clean. I am forever a child of God! I am eternally free from all the consequences of my sins." Prayer #42, Daily, You make me a totally new, divine creation. You take all my inadequacies, all my weaknesses, despairs, frustrations, fear and You, gloriously transform them into holy, heavenly assets. I am daily, even now living eternal life!
Prayer #45, First, I intercede for my mate, my children, their mates and my grandchildren. I continually place each of my family members in Your sovereign, everlasting love and care. By faith, I now claim their eternal salvation. I refuse to concede any of my family to the devil. I will not do it. He cannot and shall not have any part of their lives. In the devil’s face and in the face of all sin, I now and continually plead all the power in the blood atonement of Jesus Christ, for my family and friends." Prayer #47, "There is nothing I would rather do than to spend unhurried time in Your holy presence. There is no place I would rather be, than to be here with You. To think that in the midst of unspeakable sin and human hopelessness all around me, I am constantly privileged to live in Your pure, loving, heavenly presence makes me feel so strong and secure.
As born-again and Holy Spirit filled children of our heavenly Father, there is nothing more important that we can do than to have a daily prayer walk! Daily being in His Word is so important. Affiliating with a church fellowship and regularly attending, being involved in its growth is so important but, having a daily, unhurried prayer time with our eternal Creator and Father is most important! We can try everything in an attempt to live the Christian life, but until we make and have a daily time of quiet communion with our Father, all of our other efforts will evaporate. We must 24/7 be in prayer communion with our heavenly Father! Daily prayer must become our first priority! As oxygen is breath of life to our physical body, so daily prayer is breath of life to our spiritual body. As we would not think of missing one breath to our physical body, so let us not miss one breath to our spiritual body. As we cannot continue to live without breathing, neither can we continue to live spiritually without praying! As our physical body automatically says, breathe
, so may we daily experience our spiritual bodies saying, Pray!
May we be in agreement that the first priority of our daily walk with the Lord Jesus will be that we will talk first and often with Him every day. Be careful for nothing (don’t worry about anything); but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. Philippians 4:6 (KJV)
Pray without ceasing (don’t stop praying). I Thessalonians 5:17 (KJV).
Take time to be holy, speak oft with thy Lord;
Abide in Him always, and feed on His Word.
Make friends with God’s children; help those who are weak;
Forgetting in nothing His blessing to seek.
Take time to be holy, the world rushes on;
Spend much time in secret with Jesus, alone;
By looking to Jesus, like Him thou shalt be;
Thy friends in thy conduct His likeness to see.
Take time to be holy, let Him be thy Guide,
And run not before Him, whatever be tide;
In joy or in sorrow still follow the Lord,
And, looking to Jesus, still trust in His Word.
Take time to be holy, be calm in thy soul;
Each thought and each motive beneath His control;
Thus led by His Spirit, to fountains of love,
Thou soon shalt be fitted for service above.
- William D. Longstaff
How Can I Come To God In Prayer?
Holy Father, my Father, how can I, but a human, a speck among the untold numbers of humanity, one among the world’s over seven billion people, come before You? How can I, so human, so weak and so prone to self-destruct; come before the One and only true God of all creation and life, substance and provision, and the only hope of my salvation; how can I come to You?
Yet my Father, before I even think or purpose to come to You, You are already here before me, just waiting for me to come to You. Before I even think about You, You never stop thinking about me; never, never, never! I am forever in Your thoughts! Before I ever speak to You, You have eternally spoken to me. Without failure, every day You continually speak to me through the Holy Scriptures, Your eternal Word, and through my thoughts by Your Holy Spirit, which now has absolute control of my mind. I now and continually will have the mind of Christ in me! See Phil. 2:5.
I know how I can always come before You. I know exactly how I can come immediately before You. I come always and instantly before You in and by the name and person of Your only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, whom I claim now and forever as my Redeemer from all my sins; my eternal Savior over all my sins, and Lord and absolute Sovereign forever over all my life! Just as I am, without one plea but that Thy blood was shed for me. And that Thou bidest me come to Thee, O Lamb of God, I come! I come!
Father, because of Jesus, I am always with You!
Dear Lord Jesus, You are the eternal light, truth and path that continually leads me to Your Father, as well as my Father. How wonderful to know and have the blessed assurance that You, Father, You, Lord Jesus, and You, Holy Spirit of God, are always, always with me! Never, never will You ever, ever leave me, even when I walk my last earthly human steps through death’s valley to Your City of Eternal Light and Life. You are always with me and I shall live forever in Your house. I will be home at last!
Father, I see You just now and every moment of every day, through the eyes of faith which You have so graciously given me. Your being and greatness is beyond my ability to fully comprehend; yet, You are more real to me than my very own existence and my own breath. You, Lord Jesus, are everything to me! My total life, every second of my existence, is eternally sealed and kept by Your Holy Spirit’s presence, which is alive in my life. King of my life, I crown Thee now!
Now unto Him, Who is able to keep me from sinning and present me faultless in the glory of His presence with exceeding joy; to the only wise God, my Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen. Jude 24-25 (AFV).
Out of my bondage, sorrow and night, Jesus, I come, Jesus, I come;
Into Thy freedom, gladness and light, Jesus, I come to Thee.
Out of my sickness into Thy health, out of my want and into Thy wealth,
Out of my sin and into Thyself, Jesus, I come to Thee.
Out of my shameful failure and loss, Jesus, I come, Jesus, I come;
Into the glorious gain of Thy cross, Jesus, I come to Thee.
Out of earth’s sorrows into Thy balm, out of life’s storms and into Thy calm,
Out of distress to jubilant psalm, Jesus, I come to Thee.
Out of the fear and dread of the tomb, Jesus, I come, Jesus, I come;
Into the joy and light of Thy home, Jesus, I come to Thee.
Out of the depths of ruin untold, into the peace of Thy sheltering fold,
Ever Thy glorious face to behold, Jesus, I come to Thee.
- William T Sleeper
In The Secret Of His Presence
Very early in the morning,
while it was still dark,
Jesus got up and went off to
a solitary place, where He prayed.
Mark 1:35 (NIV)
In the Secret of His Presence how my soul delights to hide!
Oh, how precious are the lessons which I learn at Jesus’ side!
Earthly cares can never vex me, neither trials lay me low;
For when Satan comes to tempt me, to the secret place I go,
To the
