    When I first read the poetry composed by Pastor M.E. Lyons, I felt that it was very inspirationally driven for that specific time and occasion. The poetry itself allows the surviving family members to reflect on the memories of their loved ones as they continue life. These poems are the breath from God blowing through Pastor Lyons as an instrument to comfort the bereaved.

    Pastor M.E. Lyons was born in Dallas, Texas. He is married to the former LaTish Luckey, and they have three wonderful children: Deja, Myron, and Jeremiah. He Pastors the Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church in Lufkin, Texas. He is also a past Moderator of the True Love Baptist District Association and gives leadership to a multiplicity of community, state, and even national ministries and movements. He is currently seeking his Masters Degree in Psychology with emphasis on Applied Behavioral Analysis. He has attended Oxford University in London, England and has preached in the U.K. at one of the historic Churches there. His passion is writing, reading, studying, and spending time with his family!

      This book of spiritual and uplifting poetry is first and foremost a blessing to me; because I was blessed to be given the task of speaking over others loved one upon their translation from time into eternity.

      Death is a strange and peculiar happening; and God has deposited into me a unique gift that I wish to share with families near and afar. The individuals noted in this book are those that we have eulogized with the exception of those in the pages of dedication, some of them I knew personally, others were personally connected to me through a family member.

      Many times I sat with families they spoke of experiences and happy times and I would then incorporate them in the poem personalized for them. After I have completed the Divine assignment of preaching a funeral service; I would then recite the poem.

      Often times it is received with laughter, tears of joy, and instances of remembrance of the good times they have experienced; ergo releasing their minds of the reigns of sadness, that to me is when in the spiritual lungs of those left to cherish memories receive . . . Fresh Air.
