    TIM FERNANDES has been involved in both the literature and art fields for nearly forty years and an avid follower of the works of many prominent Christian authors. He is a member of Grace Brethren Church in Simi Valley, California, where he resides with his wife, Jere, and daughter, Carly. Tim is also father to Tim, Rachel, and Sarah, and grandfather of Jordan, Sabrina, Joshua, Zachary, and Geovanni. He has been involved in mission work, as well as serving as a World Vision ambassador.

      FORWARD

      I have not known Tim Fernandes for a long time; we first met in a Christian bookstore some 6 years ago. It was easy to remember him since we both share the same first name. Over time we continued to bump into each other at various school Christmas concerts, Kindergarten promotions, and through local youth sports programs. At each meeting the both of us were happy to stop what we were doing for a cordial hello, how are you doing?, and then politely move on as casual acquaintances.

      We reacquainted ourselves a year and a half ago in the lobby of the church where we both now attend. Since that time our relationship has expanded to more than a casual greeting. These last 18 months we have worshiped, prayed, learned, shared and served together in our local church. In that time I have learned that Tim loves God, his wife, his family, and his church. I have observed a man seeking to know and grow in his relationship with Jesus.

      His quiet faithfulness serves
