About this ebook

I wrote this book in my darkest time and realized that I must use my experiences to teach people many ways to enjoy both sides of life. I believe that there is no such thing as a good time or bad time in life. Rather, I see opportunities for creative invention, regeneration, growth, circumcision of heart, and thinking about the past and the future.

I wrote this book to answer some of the worlds most commonly asked questions, which always cross my mind. I propose many sources of the problems we have in the world, as well as solutions for how to handle them. Do the politicians really have the solution to our economic problems? Can the world ever experience peace and harmony? Has religion done us more harm than good? Is there really a God? If there is one, where can we find him/her?

I think that, after reading this book, most of your questions will be answered. Human beings forget that there are two sides to everything: the good and the bad, the sun and the moon, night and day, light and darkness. Unfortunately, we choose to see only the good sides of existence as being beneficial and refuse to embrace and see the opportunities that can come from the hard times. We may be so busy seeing the faults of other people and not our own; could that be one of the reasons we seem to misunderstand each other?

I hope to impart my wisdom to you. Do not worry about death, but consider how to be prepared when it comes. Additionally, you must acknowledge God and his sovereignty, and not only by attending church or Mosque. This book also teaches about parenting, attitudes, character and many other things about life.

Why Does an Orderly God Allow Disorder - Patience Johnson

    Chapter 1

So much of life is filled with lots of questions: why?, how?, what?, when?, and who? A lot of people still find it difficult to answer such questions when they comes up. I had many encounters with people during the tsunami time in 2006, when this horrible earthquake hit most of the Asian countries and some parts of Africa. People knew that I am a believer, so most of them came to ask me WHY is this happening? WHERE is God? Why did He allow the disaster to happen? WHAT could be his reason and WHO must have annoyed him to allow this horrible thing to happen?

I gave them this chapter in the KJV bible—Isaiah 24:1 See, the Lord is going to waste the earth and devastate it; he will ruin its face and scatter its inhabitants. He went on to speak through another prophet: Haggai 2:6(NIV)—This is what the lord God said, in a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the seas and the dry land. This was a message that came from the prophets of old. Just as we all know, prophecies are bound to happen, though it may take a long time, but we should not forget that the way we calculate our time is not the way God does. Secondly none of God’s word should return to him without having been accomplished and if his words do not come to pass, then he will stop being God. Moreover we are asking questions because we are only seeing it from our own side and not from God’s side.

Actually some even came to tell me that there is no God. In our life, we are confronted everyday with many questions about us and life’s issues. There are some questions that are better left unanswered because it is possible that, at the particular time, that you have no answer to give to the questions and you might not want to give a wrong answer or the person that asked the question might not be ready to appreciate the answer at that moment, especially in such moments of disaster. We are busy each day with new questions such as why should a human being be born blind?

One day while discussing with a friend of mine, he threw this question at me: Does God really create people blind? He knows there are people that were born blind, so he wanted to know my opinion about that. I first referred him to the bible chapter KJV John 9 verse 1-3: And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, who did sin this man or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. After reading the chapter to him, he still could not understand it and I told him that God cannot be a healer if there are no diseases to be healed. Miracles happen to those who believe. Blind people still receive their sight when they believe that God can heal them.

Why are some people richer than the others? I so much believe in the law of sowing and reaping, some people are richer than others because they invent more ideas, they are ready to take and bear risks, they are ready to forfeit some things in their life in order to achieve their goals, they set goals and work towards achieving them. Some are ready to learn new things to keep them going. Most rich people started from scratch and they knew already what it means to be down and they work harder not to find themselves at the bottom again. Some people are rich because they fell down and refused to remain on the ground. God gives good managers and distributors wealth, not selfish people. Why do we have people of different races? Can you imagine a world with only black or white? I think it is going to be a boring world. We are serving a God of variety. God does not give just one thing; He gives everything; He gives all things. What I do teach people is that our hearts do not have colors. We should learn to live with each other and love as God commanded us to do.

Why should a man be married to a woman and not a man and vice verse? I was watching a television program one day, when I saw some pastors debating on homosexuality. They invited a lesbian pastor, a homosexual pastor, a pastor whose son is a homosexual chorister in his church and the debate was: Is it right for them to engage in such act in the house of God? One of the pastors said that Jesus commanded us to love one another irrespective of gender. But what this lady forgot was that God was not stupid when he created Adam and Eve. It is funny how we translate the bible to suit our taste. Humans have invented new ways of life. We are no more in connection with our Creator. So we should not complain or ask questions why things are no more the way they used to be. I don’t want to judge anybody here but I think it’s time we wake up and do things right.

Why does God allows people to suffer? God never allows anybody to suffer. If he does, it must be for a purpose. It is either He wants to correct you or He is preparing you to your next state of honor. Sometimes people choose to suffer depending on the choices they make. Why do people suffer from diseases? Just as I said earlier, there will not be a Healer without any disease and we should not forget that diseases always come as a result of sin. It is a curse.

KJV Deuteronomy 28 verse 58-59—If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayst fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD; then the lord will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, (even) great plagues and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses and of long continuance. Diseases are the product of disobedience and it is not caused by God but he allows it because he cannot withdraw his words.

    WHY SHOULD WE PAY TAX?

KJV Mark 12 verse 13-17: And they send unto him certain of the Pharisees and of the Herodians to catch him in (his) words. And when they were come, they say unto him. Master, we know that thou art true, and cares for no man: for thou regards not the person of men, but teaches the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Ceaser, or not? Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their Hypocrisy, said unto them, why tempt ye me? Bring me a penny, that I may see it. And they brought it. And he saith unto them. Whose is this image and Superscription? And they said unto him, Ceaser’s. And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Ceaser the things that are Ceaser’s and to God the things that are God’s. Paying tax is a command and obligation. It is meant for both believers and unbeliever. So long as you are living and working in a country, you are commanded to pay your tax, it is your contribution as a good citizen for the development of your country.

I live in Germany where tax number is the first gift you get from the Government immediately when you open up a business. At the initial stage, I was not happy paying the tax but as time went on, I began to see the reasons why I should pay my tax, especially when am driving in our highway or strolling down our streets where you could hardly find any piece of paper on the ground. What interests me is how the money is used by the Government to provide social amenities. I came to realize that I am really contributing to the country I live in. God wants us to be responsible citizens and I am obeying what I am commanded to do. Running away from tax has never done anybody good but shame and disgrace. So I will advise we pay our taxes and allow God to do the rest.

Why is it important to be educated? Life itself is education. I used to think being educated is only when you study up to university level but later realized that I never make use of most of the things I learn in the classroom. We learn everyday in our life through people, situations, incidents, disappointments and through things that we were able to conquer in our life. It is very important to be ready to learn and correct our mistakes in order to move forward and there are still people who are not ready to learn and so they remain the same and just looking for whom to place the blame of their misfortune on. Why are bad and good things happening to certain people? Why do good people suffer and die early? Why do rich people oppress the poor? Why is there war in the world? Why can’t we live in peace and harmony with each other? Why should we believe in God? Some people complain that they have toiled day and night without any success in their life. But many of us forget to stop and check why things are not really getting on fine with us. Do all these really come from God? Do all my misfortunes in life really come from God or was I using the wrong tools and directions.

In fact there are millions of questions that we ask ourselves everyday in life but I am going to use this medium to answer the most popular ones that keep reoccurring every minute in our lives.

    Chapter 2

Why does a God of order allow disorder

NIV Isaiah 48:17—This is what the lord says—your redeemer, the holy one of Israel: I am the lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your righteousness like the waves of the sea. Your descendants would have been like the sand, your children like its numberless grains; their name would never be cut off nor destroyed from before me.

KJV Deuteronomy 28:1-2And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all the earth. And all these blessings shall come on thee, if thou shall hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.

Verse 15 of Deuteronomy 28 says—But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his Statutes which I command you; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee.

Could it be that we are living under a curse because of our disobedience or rebellion? I still remember somebody telling me he started understanding the bible after hearing my teaching. He said that he thought all the commands in the bible where meant for the Israelite and not for other people. But he forgot how he used to claim that Abraham’s blessings are his and that he belongs to the Abraham’s covenant with God. He forgot that he who shares in the covenant is bound to abide by the Law guiding the Covenant.

    WHAT IS A COVENANT?

Covenant from my own understanding is an agreement between two people or more group of people based on a mutual understanding. There must be a task required of both parties to carry out in order not to go against the agreement. What happens when the covenant is not kept by one of the parties? Then there will be disorderliness. I believe a lot of people still think that the Bible was written only for a certain group of religious people but I think it is simply a book written to accompany us in life just as the producers of products insert the user’s manual in their product. I believe that this book could save anybody who really need to be saved.

From our own side, some questions are still left unanswered—Do we really know the source of our being? Do we recognize our Creator? You can never be creative without your creator. Do we really know where we are going to? You can only reach your destination when you know your destiny and purpose. Are we really here for just a purpose or many purposes? Is God really responsible for all the menace in society?

Do we have a relationship with God? If there is no relationship, there will not be a revelation. Why do we think that God allows disorders? We have two different kinds of people in the world. They are the non-believers and the believers—the non—believers are people that have nothing to believe in but themselves. The believers could be classified under their religions such as:

Atheism—There are some certain groups who believe that there is no God. They have no doctrine and nothing to obey or work on.

Buddhism—This is a religion founded by Gautama or Siddartha in India. They teach Positive issues of Life and believe that there is a sovereign power which could also be referred to as God.

Christianity—According to the World Christian Encyclopedia (year 2000 version), global Christianity has 33,820 denominations with 3,445,000 congregations/churches composed of 1,888 million affiliated Christians. They are the largest among all other religions and are divided into different denominations like:

    • Catholicism—This type of Religion could be classified under Christianity but they have their differences with the other types of Christianity. They revers Virgin Mary and the Saints. It is headed by the Pope, with Bishops, Reverend Fathers and Sister who are bound not to marry and have children all the the rest of their Lives. They read the bible. Their time of worship does not exceed one hour because of the large number of attendants. They have their own doctrine—Catholic doctrine refers to the welfare and system which has consideration in the Catholic society for the kindness of humanity—for-instance a Catholic must get married to a Catholic and the reciting of Chaplets for their prayer, praying to Saints to intercede for them etc.

KJV Exodus 34:14—Do not worship any other God, for the Lord, whose name is Jehovah, is a Jealous God. Do not make cast idols.

    • Protestants otherwise known as Anglican Churches—They are Churches without sacramental Ordination and they read the bible.

    • Protestant, Lutheran(Minor Exception), Presbyterian, Methodist Anabaptist, Baptists, Pentecostal, Brethren, Amish, Non-Trinitarians, Universalism, Unitarians, Quakers

    • Restorations

    • Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (The Mormons), Jehovah Witnesses, Charismatics, Christadelphians

    • Episcopalian

    • Anglicans, Episcopal churches, etc.

    • Eastern Orthodox (under the Patriarch Constantinople), Greek Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, Serbian Orthodox, Coptic (Under pope etc.)

    • Gnostic or Esoteric Christianity—There are in fact more than a hundred thousand different denominations in Christianity

    • Hinduism—it is one of the oldest kinds of Religion. They follow the traditions and rituals of Hinduism. For the Hindu, the most prevalent form of worship comes as devotion to a single god or many gods. According to Hindu mythology, there are about three hundred and thirty-three million gods! Though there are so many gods in the Hindu Pantheon, most Hindus will tell you that they believe in only one Supreme Being and the plurality of all these Gods are simply perceived as the various divine creations of that one Supreme Being.

    • Islamic Religion—this is a religion that commonly base their teaching on the five pillars of Islam, which are Witnessing, Prayer, Charity, Fasting and Pilgrimage.

    • Paganism—paganism is the thought process associated with the pagans, with pagan meaning rural or rustic, it has more to do with ancestral beliefs and worshiping of man made gods. You find this group mainly in the third world countries—Africa and Asia.

    • Judaism—judism is the faith followed by Jews. It originated from the Hebrew Bible and based their teaching on the Ten commandments.

There are many other religions which are not commonly known but are still in existence: They have Origin or let me call it a source, they all serve the same purpose and that is the purpose of belief or faith. They have a function which is based on worship. Each and everyone of them gives his or her member the freedom of choice, some have laws, regulations, Doctrine which they must abide by. I also believe that they recognized that there is a God or a sovereign power and they have a place of worship.

After seeing all these similarities, I was still left with other questions. Are they all calling on the same God? According to the explanation here, there are things that they believe in that they feel, they could get in contact with at any point in time. Is it the same God Muslims are calling on that Christians are calling on, too? If they are worshiping and calling on the same God, why should they be fighting against each other? Why can’t we live in peace with one another? Why can’t we live to love and care for each other? Well I went on research on what could be the cause of all the problems we are having on earth today and I came out with some good answers which I believe might interest you.

    Chapter 3

Has Religion done us more harm than good?

KJV Matthew 15:8-9—This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with (their) lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of man:

Well I needed to study people from different ethnic societies and religions. I had opportunities to meet different kinds of people both interesting and uninteresting, educated and non-educated, individuals and personalities. I traveled to so many countries, saw different cultures, rituals and traditions, read lots of books, listened to a lot of preachers and psychologists, but couldn’t find out the answer I was really searching for, and was not satisfied because they were all teaching the same thing. It is all about man—made rituals; doctrines; laws and traditions, self made lifestyles which people have really molded to suit them and the way they want to live, not to suit their Creator.

Religion for me is all about rituals, worshiping something people have chosen for themselves and call it God. They believe that when people are not happy with their lives they need money in order to be happy, so the preachers preach only about prosperity and the psychologists try to teach people how to become somebody in life by teaching the people the techniques they use in their life to make it. All sounds fine but does it really answer this question? I still find out that a lot of people that are rich, are still not happy with their life, some end up committing suicide.

Another thing I still found out was that everybody was really focusing on that one God and some attached other little gods to it or idols all in the name of God. At one time, I decided to study the bible. When I was a child, I had passion for the things of God. I really wanted to serve God. I had this hunger to get connected to him. When I was about fifteen years old, I met a Muslim man who bought me a rack-at, which they use to pray. He was giving me some teachings on Islam. What really attracted me to his religion was their way of worship. A real Muslim does not take his praying time for granted. It is highly respected and observed among them. I was so curious about knowing God being brought up by an old spiritual woman. I never knew the difference between a Muslim and a Christian. All I could understand was that we are worshiping the same God.

I was brought up in a Christian home with the belief that there is only one God and I am still living on that belief. Nothing has changed about it one bit. I grew up with an old lady who was so dedicated in the things of God and was eager to live upright and share love among her
