    What is Love?

    Love is such a strong word and it has many definitions. People’s definitions of love vary, so it’s important to know exactly what it means. Let’s find out how it’s defined in some dictionaries.

    1. to feel a passion, devotion, or tenderness for

    2. attraction based on sexual desire

    3. a strong liking

    4. unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for others

    5. a score of zero in tennis

    In this book, we will discuss the bible definition of love. Now let’s look at the bible definition of Love (the love of God) which is found in 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8. In the King James Version (KJV), it refers to love as charity.

    4-Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up.

    5-Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

    6-Rejoiceth not in inquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

    7-Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

    8-Charity never fails.

    Let’s see how the Amplified Bible Version (AMP) explains love.

    4-Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious, jealous, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.

    5-It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it (it pays no attention to a suffered wrong).

    6-It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.

    7-Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything (without weakening).

    8-Love never
