We might not end up being published, like the authors you see on the shelves of major bookstores. It doesn't really matter. The key is to be able to reinvent yourself as you live your life. Never be afraid of anything, always go with what you are passionate about, and look for happiness. As you look for potential solutions to whatever problems you face, tackle them one at a time and be grateful for what you already have and that you are healthy. No matter what you do, no matter what you go through, you will always come out stronger and smarter. Your life is worth living, so go ahead—keep writing, you are the best gifted author you can ask for."

    Epigraph

"I am guided by my passion , and a bit by my fears. I follow my dreams, no matter what it takes to make it happen. I have goals, aspirations, and will go all the way to reach them. No matter how hard life hits me, I will prevail. No matter how many hits I take, I will get up and hit back. There is no one who will tell me how things should be done because I will do whatever is right for me. There is nothing I can’t do that others can. It is my moment of decision that my destiny is guided. I create my own. It is not set, it is based within my own self. There are no magic fixes in life; it is up to me to be a handyman of my own life. Questions I ask myself: How badly do I want success? Am I willing to put forth the effort needed to make all this happen and give it my best? The answer is yes!

I am out there to live my life, do things I want to do. By believing in my dreams, I will make them a reality. I know what I am worth, and no one will change my mind. The key to my success is me. There are no excuses, I just do what I need to do and go for it no matter what happens. At least, in the end, I know I have given my all. This is my life worth living.

    Preface

Imagine winning the $1 billion Powerball lottery, being elected president, or coming up with an online social networking site as successful as Facebook. You become very wealthy, admired, achieve fame and glory—all of this in fewer than 24 hours. Now take all that happiness and multiply it by every day of your life. Start getting that feeling, regardless of whether you have won the lottery, became president, or achieved all that fortune and glory. Let’s face it—happiness is a feeling but can also be considered as a choice, right?

Harvesting that feeling of happiness will get you a step closer to being happy. It’s not what you wish for in terms of financial freedom or anything else. It starts with enjoying what you already have. That feeling can be enhanced by thinking you’ve already reached what you always dreamed of, but then again, you need to get back to basics and reach deep down inside and master this feeling. By doing so, you will be more mo-tivated; achieve more goals; and develop charisma. You will be a better boss, employee, parent, and friend. You will also acquire more direction in life, be more patient, have more enthusiasm, and feel inner passion for everything you do. People love being around happy people, so be the one who’s happy.

People are drawn to those who have mastered happiness, and being positive is what people seek ev-ery day. Happy people are blessed with good things. They have a strong feeling of being happy, and let the universe do the rest. Speak what you are seeking, and share what you have received. This is the first step to reaching happiness.

For anything you want out of life, you first need to be conscious of what you want. To get the most pleasure out of life, you first need to wake up.

Many people go through life without really understanding their purpose. The key is awareness. It might be a simple concept for some, but you would be surprised at how many do not really understand it. You might say, It’s too simple, it can’t be that easy. There’s a catch. Well, no, there is no catch, since happiness comes from within. You can decide your happiness; you can decide how happy you want to be, regardless of what is going on around you. To live life to its fullest, think about what part of your life needs changing to reach that level of happiness. We all have our demons within, and want to face them and eradicate them to live life peacefully. To face these demons, start by changing a few things that will bring more joy to your daily life.

Imagine happiness is like cooking or baking. The first try at a recipe might be a failure. But you try again to find out what went wrong—does it need more or less sugar, salt, or other ingredients? You seek in mastering this recipe to get the best result possible. You try again and again until you perfect the recipe. There is no stopping you because your goal is very clear—the perfect recipe. Happiness is almost the same. You need to dig deep to find out what really makes you smile, makes you wake up in the morning with joy, ready to tackle anything that comes along and still keep positive. There is no secret formula that someone created. You are the creator of your own happiness. You tweak your own recipe of happiness. You change a few things in your life so you can get everything you ever wished for.

There are no secrets here, there is no magic recipe, and there are no miracles. Learn who you are as a person, learn to appreciate the little things that can bring you joy. Learn all this, and you will be a step closer to everything you always wished for in life, and ultimately reach every goal, objective, and dream. To under-stand happiness, you need to look for its origin. Did happiness start the way Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden? What’s its origination? When did it all start?

There is 7.1 billion humans on Earth searching for happiness. We seem to pursue it as though it is a necessity—such as water, air, and food. People find happiness in food, clothing, relationships, success, mon-ey, spiritual experiences. We hope to find these needs met to attain the ultimate goal called happiness.

To meet these goals, we need to realize that happiness is also a choice. It is not something that happens when the universe is aligned a certain way, or the Milky Way is angled to create a shadow of a shape or form. Happiness doesn’t come from external factors—from money or a new partner. It is within you.

Your happiness doesn’t depend on others’ moods. You may be around people who frustrate you, who make you so angry that you end the relationship, but they can’t decide if you are happy or miserable.

There are infinite reasons for a certain person coming into your life. It can be to help you build your own interpersonal skills that will propel you into something better in your future. We wonder sometimes, What did I do to deserve this? or Why is this person treating me like that? There is a reason for every-thing. The question is: Is your happiness dependent on these external factors?

Developing that inner feeling of happiness depends on only one person: you. No one else has a direct link to your happiness. It is determined by your state of mind. Choose to be positive, upbeat, to stay in front of those with a negative attitude and poor behavior, and don’t let them ruin your joyful outlook on life. It is like battling Satan—it might be a difficult fight, but you need to be the winner. That builds your personality and attitude toward life.

    Application of Happiness

Wouldn’t it be amazing to have an app for happiness? You just get out your smart phone, click on the app, and—voila—you are happy. If someone can come up with that application and sell it in the market, it would be the most popular download ever invented.

Everyone is a creator of that app, and everyone can be happy, but most people need to learn how to increase their level of joy and happiness, and how to focus on the good things in life.

Happiness is feeling and a choice; you can choose to live a happy life by learning what is good about your life. You’ve heard that a pessimist sees the glass half empty and an optimist, well, the opposite. It is im-portant to realize what is around you. Just as some say the entrepreneur/leader is born, not made, happiness is a choice you make every day. No one can tell you to be happy or miserable; it is up to you to decide.

Focus only on the good things in life. As with anything, training is required. You can’t go from being a negative, miserable person to a positive, happy person overnight. You have to train your brain. You can’t become a professional bodybuilder overnight; you need to put time and effort into it. Focus on your goals and go for it. Nothing should stop you from changing your perspective on life so you can learn to live it happily.

Seeing the good in everything can sometimes be difficult, especially when everything around you is crumbling. All things happen for a good reason. There is good within every obstacle or challenge in your life. Take only the good from every situation and make the most of it. If you hate the pulp in orange juice, strain it out and enjoy the juice. Or just buy pulp-free orange juice. Life doesn’t come in a pulp-free version.

Overcoming challenges by looking at the positive will help you perceive future challenges as being good, and you will approach it accordingly. We all have a reason to be on this planet; we all have a mission. The question is: What is my reason? What is my mission? How can I be a happy person while accomplishing my mission?

Seeing the good around you will elevate your consciousness. You will react to people; things; and events more positively, and, therefore, become a better person. Looking only at the negative brings sadness, which can be draining for those around you. Why put others through your misery?

The more good you see in your life, the more you can relate to others who adopt that same approach about life. Result: You surround yourself with only the right people, allowing you to grow to be a better per-son for yourself and for others.

    Introduction

Everyone wants total happiness. What if, in 100 days, you could attain complete happiness? Would you be willing to invest those days to get to that point? You can reprogram yourself to be happy by doing the daily activities in this book.

Investing in yourself is an exciting journey, and with a step-by-step approach that makes it less over-whelming, you can reach that happiness. For 100 days, you will be given strategies to get where you want to be. Let’s make this journey fun and the destination even more exciting.

Let’s say you’ve been working hard on a project, have seen challenges and obstacles that you felt could never be surmounted. You’ve lost sleep because of the stress of making this project successful. You wonder every day if this path you’re on is the right one. That little voice of wisdom inside you is there to make all your dreams come true.

The challenges and obstacles you face while bringing your dreams to reality are just that—challenges and obstacles. What is life without challenges? Nothing should come easy for something that will be big. So, when following a path that seems to have no end, or when the future looks bleak, just listen to that voice and redirect yourself to the right path. Redefine yourself while navigating the intricacies of whatever difficult situation you may face. It is ok to change things around to make them better. Few things work right the first time around. Be flexible and ready for change.

You have dealt with people; family; and friends who criticize everything, including your dreams; as-pirations; goals; etc. Understand the root of their criticism. Some can be constructive, but it depends on how they are presented. Understand the distinction between those who give you constructive criticism and those who are simply afraid of your success. It’s about human behavior; understand the reason behind it. Who is really allowed to criticize? Only you can criticize yourself, but don’t overdo it.

Talk to people. Get inspiration from mentors who have gone through similar challenges. As long as you reached out to the critics, don’t listen to anyone else. If you seek, you shall find. The same goes for crit-ics. In the end, you will be the one standing, you will be the one achieving your dreams while others—the critics—will be stuck in what they are doing, and probably miserable. Just go for your dreams, like a true entrepreneur.

Look at things in a positive way, even if everything around you is crumbling. Easier said than done, yes. However, the more you think negative, the more negative will come. Challenges will come, they’re inev-itable, but how you deal with these challenges is the important thing. When you know something will come, whatever it is, you prepare yourself. You can’t really anticipate the nature of the challenge, obviously, but you can anticipate that it can be either good or bad. Either way, be prepared to deal with it. The result could be a lost job, lost money, lost health. For every one of these problems, a solution exists. Look deep and listen to that inner voice. Continue looking at life with a positive attitude. The laws of attraction work with your actions and thoughts. In time, you can adopt a positive approach to everything that comes your way.

    Day 1

    Reach within Yourself

We all sometimes hear a little voice guiding us in the right direction and helping us make the right decisions. No need to worry about that little voice; you have neither bipolar nor multiple-personality disorder. That little voice is essential.. It is the voice of wisdom. You can’t go against that little voice. It is part of your subconscious mind. You might try to argue with it, pr try to ignore it when it presents the reality of your life. You might deny its meaning and purpose. Overall, this little voice of wisdom is here to lead you on a path of self-discovery and appreciation of what life really is. Don’t confuse it with the logical voice, which is the one that is mixed up with external factors, including, but not limited to: negative people, failures, sickness, financial strains, etc.

Sometimes the truth hurts, especially when presented by this inner voice. Courage and determination may be required to listen to it, regardless of its nature. You may ask yourself questions, and that inner voice will give you answers.

You might ask: I have never heard of that quiet voice, and if it is really quiet, how can I hear it? It is similar to a telepathic capability within you. It is a voice that, even though you don’t physically hear it, you feel it. However, believing it is what makes the difference. Meditation is actually an integrated part of reaching that quiet voice. Many have tried—sitting on their bed, eyes closed, breathing deeply, trying to dig deep inside, and telling themselves: This is baloney.

This is the first step to never hearing that inner voice. You are already implementing negative feeling toward the process. Again, they are not real voices, but inner thoughts. There is a difference. This is not a mental disorder, as mentioned earlier. It is how the subconscious mind tries to communicate with the con-scious mind while awake.

As you know, the subconscious mind kicks in when you are in REM sleep and recedes when you awake in the morning to let the conscious mind take over. However, some have mastered communicating with their subconscious mind while awake. It is rare, but possible. Most of us use 10 percent of our brains at most, some only ¼ percent, but to tap into infinite possibilities, the key is to communicate with the subcon-scious mind, as Einstein did. By reaching deep down inside, you will see things you have never seen before: changes in your life, abundance, health, fortune, glory. You control this, all of it. You dictate what you hap-pens in your life. This is the beginning of self-knowledge and taking a step in that direction.

Take 15 minutes every night. Turn off the TV, radio, phone, and other electronic devices. Lie on the bed with eyes closed, and focus on this question: Am I happy? The logical voice—the one that guides your day-to-day decision-making—might step up and give an answer that could be contrary to that of your inner thoughts, so try turning off the logical voice and focusing on the inner one. You can also do this right before going to sleep. This way, you get closer and closer to tapping into the subconscious mind and getting things

    moving in the right direction.

    Day 2

Money and Power: Precursors to Happiness or Not?

God gave us two ears and one mouth so we could listen twice as much as we speak.

ONCE YOU HAVE MASTERED listening to the inner wisdom voice (Day 1), you can hear it even in a crowd-ed room; it will become second nature. Since it is within, things around you get muted and the voice inside takes over.

Remember the wisdom voice is not the logical voice you hear every day. It is deeper and more pro-found in terms of the messages it shares. Differentiating between these two voices is crucial. When you seek the wisdom voice, you first hear the logical voice sending basic messages about how to get instant gratifica-tion, or what clothes to wear for tonight’s date, etc. However, if you dig deeper, the wisdom voice may tell you whether it’s even a good idea to go on that date. Listen to the quiet voice; it is only through accessing that quiet voice (wisdom) that you will feel inner calmness and happiness. Everything else is superficial.

Are money, power, and prestige synonymous with happiness? No. It’s not that you won’t be happy if you have those things, but not having them shouldn’t make you unhappy. Those things, and others, are merely ephemeral and won’t bring happiness. We need direction in our lives that cars, money, and prestige won’t bring. Listening to that voice of wisdom supplies that direction, just as a car’s GPS does. It will take you from point A to B, bypassing highways and toll roads (if you’re frugal), but overall, it will lead you to that destination. Listening to the inner voice won’t take you out of the reality loop, you need to make this voice a part of your reality. It is not going to go away, and, believe me, you don’t want it to, either.

Ask your inner voice: What can I do to increase the joy in my life? Then just wait—be silent—and see what that voice says. And don’t ask if you will win the Mega Millions Powerball or if a new Lamborghini will appear in your garage. Again, it’s not about material wealth. We’ll get back to this later in this 100-days program.

    Day 3

    Your Inner Voice/Thoughts

Days 1 and 2 of this program explained the quiet voice that will eventually guide you to ultimate happiness. That voice might not always tell what you want to hear. It may be blunt; it may open your eyes to things you’d rather not see. The voice might tell you things you wanted to avoid at all costs, and present challenges you didn’t want to face.

Everything in life requires hard work, and some challenges can be very hard to overcome. Nothing comes easy. If you really want something, you need to put your all into what you want to achieve. However, when you do get what you want, you sometimes forgot how much work was required to get it. When you listen to the voice, it might not always bring you instant happiness. This is not about instant gratification. It is a process—a long one sometimes, but at least you are on the way up that mountain. It can be physically and mentally painful to climb that mountain, but the more you push yourself toward the top, the more the view up there becomes clear so you can see the way to your goals and aspirations.

Let’s take bodybuilding, for example. The sole purpose of going to the gym should be to build the per-fect body. You need to wake up early, do some cardiovascular work, and then come back at night to do resis-tance training to build muscles. Day after day, night after night, the same routine has to be applied. However, when you go up on stage for competition, you can finally see how that hard work paid off, Your fans will ap-preciate it. The key is to listen to that voice that will push you—motivate you—to get to your goal. Listen to the voice and you will see great changes in your life, only for the better, and you will realize all your dreams.

Remember this voice is not only for your personal gratification. It will also require you to do good and kind things for others, even if doing so interrupts the journey to your goals. If you fail to follow the inner voice, it won’t accuse you of being a failure; it doesn’t work that way. If you have hurt someone, the voice will probably suggest that you apologize, even though that’s not on your goal schedule. The voice will point you in the right direction. Remember, it is not about acting on large projects, but small steps toward that direction. Looking at the big picture (a life goal) can be overwhelming. Don’t sell yourself short on any of your plans. We all have a mission on this earth. Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither was Facebook. Take the time to get where you need to be, one step at a time. Life is not a spectator sport.

We all have grand dreams, goals, and wishes for a better life. What is the difference between winners and losers, achievers and dreamers? It’s all about persistent action. Rocky said it best (in Rocky Balboa) while speaking to his son: The world is not sunshine or rainbows, it is mean, shows no pity or remorse, no flexibility. No matter how tough you are, it [life] will beat you and keep you down there permanently if you let it. No one can hit harder than life, because it doesn’t matter how hard you hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward, it’s how much you can take and still keep moving forward. If you know what you want out of life, just go out and get it, but you need to be willing to take the hits and not be discouraged by uncertainties.

I’d say he summed it up better than any therapist out there.

AGAIN, IT IS ALL ABOUT listening to that inner voice. You’ve worked very hard and taught yourself strat-egies to access that inner voice and try to follow its advice.

I mentioned that facing your fears will
