This book is printed on acid-free paper.

This book is dedicated to my oldest daughter who asked me to quit smoking because she was being teased at school for smelling like my cigarette smoke. She told me how school taught her that smoking was bad. She also was my inspiration to make many changes in my life, and stopping smoking was one of them. This book is also dedicated to my youngest that is an inspiration daily in my life that keeps me from repeating mistakes of the past, and inspires me to keep improving myself as a person. This is also for my cousin Bonna who as a Doctor dealing with cancer patients has seen the results and tragedy that smoking brings into lives, and for my sister who quit after over 25 years of smoking. The stability to not disappoint myself and others is found in the people that I love. And for my loving friends and family who tolerated me when they themselves did not smoke. For all of my friends and relatives who really want to quit, and to those who will quit and do not want to start again, I hope this booklet helps you accomplish your personal desires.

    Introduction

    5-S Plan

Before you get started consider that someone may see this book. That naturally leads to unwanted questions and pressure. You may consider saying that you are reading this book to consider not smoking. Keeping questions and people off of your back is a great step to progress, so try to keep this as discreet as possible for your own sake.

For some people the problem is not in quitting smoking, but in not starting smoking again. Many people can agree that they have quit smoking, whether it be for hours, days, weeks, months, or years. The problem lies in not starting again. This method helped me, and I hope it will help you too, as you consider not ever starting again.

If you are a person who can commit to something like your job, a relationship, or even your commitment to smoke, then you can probably be a person who can make a commitment to yourself. Anything we ever gain takes a certain amount of commitment. We may not want to wake up and go to work, but we do and we receive a reward for that. Sometimes we feel it is not worth it, but we continue on. If you can have this attitude, you should do well to quit smoking, and never restart!

This plan is designed to help career smokers find their own way to quit, without feeling the punishment and deprivation, that stopping smoking usually causes. Deprivation of course leads to discouragement, and in the long run, no success of quitting. What if you were already a winner at quitting smoking while you still smoke? This booklet gives you that opportunity. It is a self-reward system that you should enjoy. Good luck!! You can do it!!

    Chapter One

    The Enjoyable Routine of Smoking

This book is short because anything long and drawn out, or appears too complicated, will turn most smokers away. That is because the whole idea of stopping smoking is overwhelming. I believe that you will get your money’s worth however, and you will discover that the investment in this small book will possibly lead you to an amazing life.

No I am not a Doctor. I am just a person like you who wanted to quit smoking. I had tried a five day plan, and quit for a while. I tried stopping cold turkey, and quit for a while. I tried cutting back gradually, and quit for a while. I even tried grossing myself out with all of the medical information, pamphlets, and films that were available to me. They were absolutely disgusting, but the people in those pictures were not me. I personally felt invincible. I believed it was unfortunate for the weaker humans to suffer so, but fortunately I knew the health of my body, my diet, my exercise plan, and I knew how strong I was physically. So, I had no fear that I would develop any problems personally. Obviously I was fooling myself. I had convinced myself that I was like the rare few that I had heard about over the years. The ones that live to be
