Hide the Word Devotional Book - Dr. Travis S. Holmes

I used to hear these words from my mother, Boy, I am trying to tell you something, and you need to listen so you can learn something. I found out that God is just like our parents or guardians because He is always trying to tell us something or get our attention.

In this verse, God is using His word to test us, which means He trying to get our attention. God gets our attention in three ways. The three ways are: 1) He talks to us, 2) He tests us, and 3) He touches us.

The first way God gets our attention is by talking to us. Psalm 105:19: Until the time that his word came. There is not a time and place in which God is not trying grasp our attention through talking to us. When God talks to us, sometimes He uses people, things, and places to get our attention.

The second way God gets our attention is by testing us. Psalm 105:19: The word of the Lord tried him. The word test means to check to see if some quality is met; for example, if we are ready, mature, and strong enough to move and receive the next blessings in our lives. God tests us to measure whether we are improving, growing, and ready to be used by Him for His glory.

The third and final way God gets our attention is by touching us. Psalm 105:19: The word of the Lord tried him. The touch means to literally grab, hit, or bother someone with something. When God touches us, He touches to move, heal, and, in this case, to bring about a true change in our lives.

In conclusion, God may use people, places, and things to get our attention, but the final result is that God wants our attention on Him. Therefore, God is that parent who constantly and continuously tries to talk to us and get our attention.

Only when your heart and mind are with God can you know

and discern when He is testing you.

I am grateful to God that He sent His only son Jesus Christ to die for my sins. I know and understand that Jesus Christ died in my place and rose with all power in His hand to show me that sin can be conquered. It was the grace of God that redeemed and revived my soul.

I am thankful for grace for three primary reasons. These primary reasons are: 1) I know God loves me, 2) I know God is merciful, and 3) I know that Jesus’ death was God’s gift.

The first primary reason is that God loves me. Ephesians 2:8: For by grace are ye save through faith. It was the love of God that looked beyond my faults and saw all of my needs. I needed salvation and the regenerated power of His blood, and I know for sure that God’s love is the reason that I am saved through and by His son’s name.

The second primary reason is knowing that God is merciful. Ephesians 2:8: And that not of yourselves. The word mercy means compassion. God has pity on us. I realized that I should have died in my sins and God should find me guilty of my sins. However, it was the saving power of God’s mercy that I live by His grace.

The third and final primary reason is that grace was and is God’s gift. Ephesians 2:8: It is the gift of God. A gift is something that someone gives to us. I did not have to do anything to receive. God has seen the need to save, deliver, and redeem us from our sins. Therefore, He provided and gave us His son as a gift so that we may receive His everlasting love and live free from our sins.

In conclusion, I don’t have a reason to boast, unless I am boasting in the grace of God. It is God’s grace that restored and rescued me from that horrible and hurtful pit of sin and a place reserved in a devil’s hell. It is the grace of God that provides the gift of a sinless life and a future place in God’s arms in Heaven.

It is the grace of God that saves us

and the mercy of God that keeps us saved.

Have you ever had an emergency that required that you ask for help? Help is a universal call, and this call does not discriminate, because anybody any day could need help through an unforeseen emergency. A cry for help comes when a person immediately signals when he or she is hurting, feels threaten, or is trying to get out of a horrible situation.

Therefore, help is a universal signal that indicates that a person needs some immediate attention. There are three reasons for calling on the Lord for help. The three reasons are: 1) The Lord hears us, 2) the Lord will defend us, and 3) the Lord will send help for us.

The first reason to call on the Lord is that He will hear us. Psalms 20:1: The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble. It does not matter how bad or difficult the situation is. The Lord will hear all our concerns, and all we have to do is call on His name.

The second reason to call on the Lord is that He will defend us. Psalms 20:1: The name of the God of Jacob defend thee. The Lord has a way of protecting and making provision for His people. When the devil comes after us, the Lord will defend us (fight for us).

The third and final reason to call on the Lord is that He will send help for us. Psalms 20:2: Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion. The word send means that God will provide us with reinforcement. Not only that, the Lord will also provide strength for our journey.

In conclusion, it is vital and essential to note and put our faith in the knowledge that help is on the way. The Lord never fails, because there is victory in His name, and He always fulfill His promises.

Help is a universal term and it is used best

when we pray to the Lord and ask Him for help.
