Dr Claire Ellender is Senior Lecturer in Translation at the Université de Lille III in France. She is the author of a number of publications in the field of translation studies, including three monographs: Preserving Polyphonies: Translating the Writings of Claude Sarraute (Peter Lang, 2013), Dealing with Difference in Audiovisual Translation: Subtitling Linguistic Variation in Films (Peter Lang, 2015) and Coping with Comedy in Audiovisual Translation: Subtitling Humorous Representations of Otherness in Films (Lambert Academic Publishing, 2017). Over the years, Claire has also developed a strong interest in health and well-being practices and therapies. She has qualifications in, and regularly practises: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness Meditation, Reiki and Yoga.
