Introduction
India is a South Asian country, the seventh largest country by measurement of area and the second largest by population and it is the most populous democracy in the world with over 1.2 billion people with 52% work in the agriculture industry (Anonymous, 2014). After nine decades of British rule, India got their independence on August 15, 1947 (Anonymous, 2014). Amidst the colorful array of pluralism, a vibrant culture, picturesque geographical terrain, this country continues to thrive at social, economic and political development.
According to the United Nations, India is on track to becoming the most populous country in the word by 2029 (Sreenivasan, 2009). This presents challenges for India in all areas of their structures as there are current social, political and economic challenges they have yet to successfully address in order to continually compete on a global scale and support an estimated 1.6 billion by 2029. There have been some successes for example, progresses made due to their association with Brazil, Russia, China and South Africa (BRICS). The government will need to do a thorough evaluation of all economic segments, including foreign business protocols, in order to successfully facilitate both foreign and local businesses, to be poised and ready to support such population growth.
