    PART ONE

    Money Myths

    Many pagans look at money or the focus on money as against the pagan ideal of being spiritual. A look at the idea of money shows that a change in thinking is required in order to understand that money is only a form of exchange for value.

    Wiccans learn through their training to use or develop prosperity spells, leading from simple candle magic to high magic talismans. In all of these operations there is the focus on the structure of the writ and the invoking of the named forces to assist as well as the assembling of the correspondences to enable the function of the spell to be empowered. Of highest importance is the POWER OF THE WORD.

    The language you use to describe the earning of money as well as the utilization of money reflect your understanding and appreciation of the power of money in your life. Statements like:

    • Money is the root of all evil – This shows a contempt for money as a form of exchange for value given.

    • Money doesn’t grow on trees – An excuse given to demonstrate that what you asked for we are unable to give you.

    • Money can’t buy happiness – think about how much unhappiness is caused by the lack of money.

    Mindset is the term given to how you perceive the world around you and how your values are demonstrated to others. Recognition of your conscious thoughts will reflect attitudes regarding money as well as your realization that your subconscious mind which is around 85% of your brain and works when you rest or sleep. The time and percentage given to the subconscious sets the paradigm of how you will relate to your world.

    Therefore, if your present thinking has led you a realization that you are not where you would like to be financially, then your paradigm has to change.

    Exercise on Money Myths

    1. Sit yourself down in a quiet place alone or with your partner. Light up a gold candle and incense. Put yourself into a light meditation using four by four breathing and slow yourself down from the world of the mundane. Using a tape recorder or your partner to write, free associate your thoughts about money, the values, possible evils, anything you can bring up that reflects your concepts of money. There is no right or wrong here. What is powerful is the permission you give to yourself to express your beliefs about money. If you have a partner, change places so you can write their comments also.

    2. List your ten closest friends – do they have the same mindset as you? Are any of them wealthy, have good jobs or considered to be struggling. List how they talk regarding issues to do with money. See if you can identify their words of power, are they empowering or just excuses for their situation.

    3. Where you work. Who is seen as successful, what characteristics do they display. Can you identify their words of power.

    4. Read a book – I suggest The Richest Man In Babylon by George Clason. Then summarize the message chapter by chapter. ( You can also look it up on the internet )

    The above book was suggested to me by a multi millionaire James Rohn, who came to Perth to teach in a one day seminar. He stated that 95% of people once told would not go to buy the book. Of those who did buy 95% would not read it all the way to the end. Of those that did read it 95% would not implement the teaching. Therefore there was still plenty of room for new millionaires to grow. I am proud to state that I did read the book took action and achieved the rewards as promised.
