Do We Destroy The Very Things We Say We Love
()
About this ebook
Mankind has been plagued with the question: Do we destroy the very things we say we love? The next question is: why does mankind destroy those things that he says he loves? It has to do with his thoughts. As it is written, Proverbs 23:7 “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he....” Thoughts: They can control us or we can control our thoughts. The choice is ours, for God Almighty gave mankind the right of freewill to choose as he will. Inspired of God: Philippians 4:8 KJV Paul writes; “Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” We are going to take a look at some lives and just what their thoughts activated through free will of choice. We will see what they loved, we will see how their thoughts controlled their actions, and we will see the affect it had on the future of their life, and how it could have been avoided in the hopes that our lives will not suffer a like destruction. I have heard over the years, “Wouldn’t it be nice if we could see into the future and know what needed to be changed and change it?” Yes, that would be nice and in a sense, we can, by looking back at what has been. God said in Ecclesiastes 1:9 “The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be....” We will see the mistakes man has made in the past and are being made in this day and age. That makes me ask, will mankind ever learn from the past or is he just not looking. Throughout the word of God, we are instructed to not be as those that live after the flesh, seeking the things of the world. God has given mankind the free will to choose, therefore; He said in His Word: Colossians 3:1 “If you then be risen with Christ, seek those thing, which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.” We are also instructed in Colossians 3:2 “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” Look around you. What do you see people acting like on the whole? Is your heart crying out to open the blind eyes before it is much too late? I see neighbor against neighbor and mankind fighting and destroying because of differences of ideas and allowing attitudes to become contentious. As a boy, I was taught, “watch the mistakes of others and be a wise decision maker by letting their mistakes be your teacher and you will not have to suffer as they did in the past.” We are going to find out what virtue is. Luke 8:46 “and Jesus said, somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.” We will find out the role virtue plays in mankind’s life and just what it was that went out of Jesus when He was touched by somebody. May your life be truly blessed by the receiving of this understanding. Amen.

PREFACE
I woke up early with thoughts on my mind, but that sounds rather strange; for we are truly never without thoughts. A thought that kept running through my mind was: How thoughts have such an effect on our lives.
Thoughts: They enable us to learn. They enable us to investigate the laws of nature. Laws of physical, moral and spiritual things. Thoughts: they control our likes, dislikes, and our desires. For example: Do I want to see a movie? What type of movie do I want to go see? Desires: Do I desire to become successful in my endeavors. Thoughts control every aspect of our lives. Thoughts surround our every action throughout our every day and invade even our nights with dreams.
Thoughts: Where do they come from? They enter our lives by what we see with our eyes, they enter our minds with what we hear,
