My imagination runs wild and takes me to lands that I can only dream of. I love the young adult genre and writing about far off lands and other worlds that no one has ever heard of before. I especially like books and movies where magic exists and people have special powers. I try my best to bring my readers with me as I explore those worlds and the many adventures that they entail.

Bonus: The Night Before
Prologue
The sun shined brightly in the sky and targeted any who got in its path. The only slight relief was the shade of the trees, below which two girls ran for their lives. Nevertheless, sweat dripped down their bodies like rain as their heartbeats increased with each forward step. They ran as fast as they could, but it was not fast enough. Their pursuers were close behind and catching up quickly; they had to act fast. Sierra, whose wings appeared out of nowhere prepared for the fight as the other who had been injured rested momentarily where she stood, mentally preparing for what was about to happen. The moment that the girl caught her breath, she gathered the rest of her strength and once again took off running.
Chapter 1
It was a very hot, beautiful day in mid-July when Chloe Smith and Brandon Sky decided to take a swim. Ever since they had returned from Pureville, everything started to fall into place for them. Neither Chloe nor Brandon’s families had ever been the richest people, but they had all managed to get by. More recently however, they all experienced a very peculiar streak of luck.
Brandon’s father received a very large promotion from the movie company of which he had been a faithful employee for several years. He was finally given the opportunity to try his hand at filming, and was put in charge of editing as well. This was the first time he would get to see the action firsthand, as opposed to on paper since he only used to edit the scripts of the movies that he had so longingly wished to be a part of. The large pay increase left him so overjoyed that it led to the spontaneous decision to buy a pool for the family and although this was a great achievement in itself for Brandon’s family, Chloe’s parents also had a success story of their own.
Chloe’s parents both worked for their local newspaper, writing articles and interest pieces to get them by. They however, were very artistic people; they could take a seemingly meaningless or worn out item and make it look as though it was brand new and unique. They had an eye for nature as well. They loved to take photos of everything; nothing was too plain or boring to focus on. A few days after Chloe’s graduation they set off on another one of their travels. They had been all over the world, interviewing people and finding things to write about for the newspaper. They took pictures of every place that they went and each picture that they took turned out better than the last. They were starting to get sick of writing and decided to take a risk. They took out a lease on a shop in order to sell their pictures and other items that they had transformed into works of art.
Due to the many connections that they had formed throughout the years and a nice article about their shop in the paper, word spread quickly throughout the city. The results were instantaneous; their shop was so successful that before long they were making more money than they ever did while working for the newspaper. They decided to keep part time jobs at the paper on a more freelance basis, writing only the pieces that they were interested in while still keeping their shop open. Due to their overwhelming success, they finally had excess money which they decided would be best used to help fund whatever Chloe decided to do with her future.
As practical as her parents were being with their money, considering how hot it was outside, Chloe still wished that they would have splurged for a pool as well. It was not that big of a deal however, seeing as how Brandon and Chloe lived next door to each other, and therefore she could use Brandon’s pool any time she pleased. Brandon didn’t really care where they hung out as long as they were together, and seeing how it had proved to be a very hot and humid summer, most days Chloe ended up coming over to swim with him. They swam and talked for hours each day, but no matter where their conversations started, they almost always ended on the subject of Pureville and the day that their lives had changed forever.
Do you think that we’ll ever be able to go back?
asked Brandon as he climbed out of the pool and reached for his towel.
Of course I do,
said Chloe who was still doing laps in the pool. I think that we’ll be able to return when we are meant to.
How can you be so sure?
asked Brandon. What if that was the first and last time that anything exciting will ever happen to us?
Chloe stopped swimming and turned to look at Brandon. Am I not exciting to you anymore?
Umm, err, I didn’t mean,
stuttered Brandon who knew he was in trouble.
Come here a second,
said Chloe flirtatiously as she swam toward the edge of the pool where Brandon was standing.
I don’t want to,
said Brandon who wasn’t exactly sure what to do.
Come on,
urged Chloe. You know you want to.
Brandon decided that it was better to go by her now than to wait too long and get in trouble later. He also figured that if she was using her flirty voice, then it was all right to proceed towards her, although admittedly sometimes she was a tricky one to read. He knelt down to kiss her, and was about one inch away from her lips when she grabbed him and with one fast feat of strength, flipped him backwards over her head and into the pool with her once again.
There,
said Chloe. Wasn’t that exciting?
Not the kind of excitement I was hoping for,
admitted Brandon. I forgot how strong you are.
Well next time maybe you should think before you speak,
said Chloe. It could save you a lot of pain, and not to mention embarrassment from those pitiful excuses for jokes that so willingly tend to spew out of your mouth.
Hey! My humor is priceless.
Exactly, there’s no value to it.
Ouch,
said Brandon. That hurt, I think that we should stick to me telling the jokes, at least that way no one will get hurt.
Ok,
sighed Chloe who did not wish to upset Brandon any further. Truthfully although she did want to get him back for his comment, she had also been very tempted to kiss him all along.
But seriously,
said Brandon, I just wish that they needed us for something, even just to visit.
Yeah, I know what you mean. Don’t get me wrong Brandon, you are and always will be my best friend…
Not to mention boyfriend,
he said as he kissed her.
That too,
Chloe blushed, but I really miss having a lot of friends. I know it was dangerous and all, but I never really felt like I was in any danger. When we were all together in our group I felt almost invincible.
I know,
added Brandon. I really miss being able to fly, I’m so sick of walking everywhere.
You have a car Brandon,
Chloe reminded him.
Yeah, well you know what I mean.
I suppose I understand,
sighed Chloe. In Pureville when someone got hurt I could at least help, but here I’m just as useless as before.
I don’t think you’re useless,
said Brandon as he swam laps around Chloe. Just a bit slow,
he laughed. At least your vision healed itself, now you don’t have to wear those stupid glasses anymore.
What is that supposed to mean?
asked Chloe who was almost to the point of holding Brandon underwater.
Nothing, I just meant that your true beauty was hidden underneath the glasses, and that was a horrible crime in itself.
Nice save...I think,
said Chloe a bit confused. Brandon sighed in relief. I have an idea. Why don’t we go and visit our old clubhouse tonight? Maybe it will make us feel better.
Ok,
smiled Brandon. That sounds like a really good plan. But what should we do in the meantime?
I think that I have the answer to that too,
said Chloe as she swam closer to Brandon. She got very close to his face and right when he was about to kiss her once again, she used all her might to turn away and said, "Race you to
