A Perfect Day In Malta

Morning walk
Enjoy the early morning calm with a walk along Golden Bay. The beach is a tranquil oasis at this time of day.

Breakfast
Head to Crystal Palace (Triq San-Pawl) on the outskirts of Rabat for a tasty breakfast of pastizzi. This hole-in-the-wall establishment offers some of the island’s best varieties of this traditional snack.

Rabat ‘train’
Hop on the Rabat ‘train’ which will take you around the outskirts of this rural area. Great fun and quite informative, too.

Exploring Mdina
Walk through Mdina and catch a showing of the Mdina Experience documentary, which offers an excellent overview of local history. Don’t forget to take in the stunning view from the bastions before you go.

Palazzo Parisio
Head inland to Palazzo Parisio in Naxxar. This historic stately home is stunning and well worth a visit. After a tour of the palace, enjoy a delicious lunch in its lush Mediterranean garden.

Valletta
Valletta is bursting with culture, so use your afternoon to wander through a couple of museums. St James Cavalier is ideal for art lovers, while the Grand Masters Palace makes you feel as though you have stepped back in time.

Spa time
It’s time to relax. St Julian’s and Sliema have some of the islands’ best spas, such as the Fortina and the Apollo Day Spa. You can then sit back by the pool or head to sandy St George’s Bay.
7.30pm
Spinola Bay for dinner
Stay in the area for dinner. Spinola Bay is the spot for foodies, with a great variety of choices on offer. Look for restaurants that are packed with locals.
9.00pm
Clubbing
Nearby Paceville is the place to dance the night away. The best party clubs include Footloose (St George’s Road) and the Havana (also on St George’s Road), while Level 22 (Portomaso Business Tower) and BarCelona (Wilga Street) offer a more sophisticated atmosphere.
Introduction
The tiny island of Malta sits at the heart of the Mediterranean Sea.
