Dump Dinner Cookbook - Sadie Tucker
Foreword
How did it get so late so soon?
– Dr. Seuss
One thing that I have always had particular difficulty with is balancing time. As a busy professional who also feels obligated to provide my family with healthy meals, I constantly struggle to find balance. When I dedicate myself to cooking a nutritious, hot meal for my family, I end up spending so much time that an hour later (at the very least) I’m tired and aggravated. I find myself questioning why I didn’t just stop at the local drive through. Of course, this leaves me feeling guilty, after all, a healthy, hot meal, shouldn’t be something I begrudge my family...but where do I find the balance? With a full-time job, a family to care for, everyday chores...something has to give.
After complaining for quite some time, I decided to ask my family for help. We divided cooking assignments between us, and somehow we came up with a somewhat edible meal come dinnertime. This solution worked for all of three weeks when everyone decided that they were too busy to help cook and (if I'm honest) we all tired of the fragmented meals that never seemed to come together all that well.
At this point, I came to realize that something was going to have to give. Either we were going to end up eating take-out every day of the week, or I was going to have to employ a chef...neither of which I could afford. I began to feel as though I was condemned to a lifetime of exhaustion, aggravation, and bags under my eyes. At least, I felt this way until I spotted a dump cooking book at the checkout of my local crafting store. After flipping through a few pages, I decided to give the dump cooking method a try, and soon enough I realized that this was the answer I had been looking for! After trying out every single recipe in the book, I started creating my own recipes and soon enough I had enough to make a book of my own. So, if you’re like me, pushed for time, tired, frustrated, and ready to commit your family to a life of take-out food, give some of my favorite dump recipes a try and see if they help you to free up a little more you time.

What is Dump Cooking?
When I first mentioned dump cooking to my family, I have to admit that they all snickered a little at the name. While it may be slightly humorous, however, dump cooking is more than an appropriate name for this method of cooking. Why? Because dump cooking involves nothing more than dumping your ingredients into your designated container, mixing them together, and cooking. There is no waiting to add something or other, no varied cooking times for one portion of your meal over another, and no separate meal sections to prepare while
