First off, I'd like to thank you for purchasing this book Guns & Firearms Self-Defense: A Complete Beginner's Guide to Firearms Safety, Gun Laws and Defending Your Family!
Owning a firearm comes with some serious responsibility. I'm happy to see that you acknowledge this and want to inform yourself further on the topic. The more knowledgeable you are about firearms, the better protected you and your family will be in the long run.
A few of the main responsibilities involving gun ownership can be broken down into the following 4 things. I'll go over a lot of other information during the course of this book but I want to mention these four upfront as I deem them to be of critical importance when owning a gun for self defense.
It's up to you to make sure your firearms don't end up falling into criminal hands because of you're neglect or carelessness.
It's up to you to make sure that when your guns are being handled, safety is a priority, and no one around you is in danger from carelessness or neglect.
It's up to you to make sure that no children are able to get access to your firearms. When not in use, firearms need to be stored away from the reach of others.
It's up to you to make sure you know all the gun laws for your state of residence. This includes any type of permits to own a gun, conceal carry laws, laws that regard using deadly force when in self defense, and what occurs in the legal system when someone has to use deadly force to defend
