Descrizione

This book “The Processes of Faith”, which deals with a very important aspect of the Christian life, is written by Professor Zacharias Tanee Fomum. In this book, the author defines faith as the proclamation of that which has already taken place in the invisible. It is the place where a truth will stick. As Active sites are to a Chemist, so is faith to a believer. Faith is created by obedience to God, prayer and fasting. For faith to be born and grow there is need for hearts that are totally consecrated to God. The author mentions the fact that he who has received an Active Word from God holds on to God no matter what he sees around – that is faith. The need to spend long hours before God, especially in reading and re reading God’s Word for faith to grow cannot be overemphasized. In fact, people ought to spend a lot of time with the Word of God so that it creates faith in them. Nevertheless, the author warns against the dangers of sin which destroys faith. He invites you to cooperate with God so that your faith in Him will be born and grow
We recommend this book to you dear reader, praying that the Lord will use it to enable you to grow in your faith in Him.

THE PROCESSES OF FAITH

Chapter 1

THE PROCESSES OF FAITH - 1

Throughout the forty days of my just-ended journey to the Americas, I was asking God one question: Lord, What is faith? There are people who just recite what the Bible says about faith without knowing anything of faith. Who here has faith? Indicate if you have faith. For what do you have faith? You cannot say you have faith without saying anything for which you have faith. Or do you have faith for everything? It is not possible.

In the processes of faith,

a command,

an order or

a Word of God

becomes charged. For those who do chemistry, a particle that loses an electron becomes charged. The word of God becomes charged when it receives life. The Logos of God becomes the Rhema of God. Before the word of God received life, it was like any other word. Then it receives God’s life and comes out of the ordinary. Something you have read for many years becomes different. You may be reading the word for the twentieth or thirtieth time, and then one day a command comes up. At that very moment, whether you will pick that charged particle, depends on what your heart is like. It depends on whether you have active sites or not. It depends on whether you have active sites that can pick up the particle. It depends on whether your heart has places that can pick up and contain that particle. It depends on whether your heart has the magnets that can attract this particle and contain it.

For the chemist, faith is active sites. Faith is the place where a truth will stick, because unless it fixes on your heart you cannot act on it. Whether a person can pick this word of God or not, depends on the nature of his heart. Some people do not have active sites. In chemistry, an absorbent destroys active sites. In the Lord’s household, sin destroys active sites. Sin destroys active sites in such a way that, even though the Active Sites are there, there is nowhere the word can stick. There is nowhere to lodge the word. Oh! And sin is a ruin! Sin just fills the heart. It just soils it. Sin just fills these Active Sites and there is no place for faith.

If a hundred people hear the word, only the one with active sites will have it cling to him. Where the word cannot cling, the person sees the truth, analyses it with his head, but cannot obey it. In such a case, the word is in the head and not in the heart. It stays at the level of the head, because the person does not have active sites in his heart. For we also have had the gospel preached to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who head it did not mix it with faith.(Hebrews 4:2) The Revised Standard Version of the Bible says, "But the message which they heard
