Nothing Happens Until The Meeting Is Set - John McKee
1 MY WORK HISTORY
When you purchased this book, the first thing you may have thought is, What can I learn from this guy?
Anyone who knows me probably thought, well maybe it could be interesting. If you are in business development or sales, you may be wondering how does arranging meetings become a specialty or niche? What is connecting people, businesses, and products all about? What is so interesting about his life? I will answer all of these questions in this book.
First, I’m going to start at the current time in my life and will work my way back. I hope that if the business aspect of this doesn’t interest you that my life journey may. I have some pretty interesting work stories. For example, while I am writing this book, I’ve hit a huge milestone in my life. It has triggered a light bulb moment and I am realizing that I need to be taking full advantage of this opportunity.
The opportunity is that I have recently been selected to enter into a strategic partnership with Https://asseenontv.pro/, which is owned by the Original Shark from Shark Tank, Kevin Harrington, and the inventor of the Infomercial and DRTV. Direct Response TV came out of the blue and it is so cool because we will be airing our Cosmo Glove on national and regional TV. I had the opportunity to meet Kevin for a brief chat and to do a photo shoot. Later in the book, I will give all of the details and discuss the process I went through from spending a large portion of my career in business development to where I am today.
Out of the blue, I developed a product because I wanted to help someone. All of this happened while I was still in business development connecting people, business, and products. The Cosmo Glove is an ideal solution to a problem that was going unresolved, and 33 months later I was awarded my first United States Patent. Now we are on to national and regional TV. It wasn’t as easy as that and I will tell you more about the process later in the book.
For me the book is about a lot of things including that light bulb moment and my career chart going up and down and back and forth. It was definitely never in a straight line going straight up, and I am certain people must have thought I was crazy to invent a product. This whole thing triggered a process I may have never thought anything more about or written a book had I not invented a product, met Kevin Harrington, and then read his book on being a Key Person of Influence.
Because of everything that has happened, it has made me realize I already have a specific skill set. I’ve always known I have skills, but having gone through the process of inventing led me to read a book on how I could capitalize on business development, arranging meetings, and be the go to guy for that service. I have been in school the whole time: the school of life. Now, I can capitalize on my experience helping others, and so can you.
But wait there is more!
Yes, that’s a quote from AsSeenOnTV. I am not one who has ever wanted to say much about myself. I never have put much of a spotlight on me. I want to stand out from the crowd. Of course we all want to! But what is success? It is different for each and every one of us. So let’s get started and dive into my journey. I hope that it may help you with your dream, whether it’s a dream of creating a new product, starting a business, or leaving a boring job you hate. The job that you realize is making others more successful than you and is keeping you becoming your own key person is just around the corner if you look for it. Maybe you want to write a book. Maybe you want to find a way to give back and help others but to do it on your own. "We are all key people of
