About this ebook

Have fun learning about language!

One book is never enough to explore the wide range of synonyms! In this follow up to Pitch and Throw, Grasp and Know, the crazy and zany cats deliver loads of additional examples to illustrate the power of synonyms to make writing superb or terrific. Brian P. Cleary's playful, rollicking verse and Brian Gable's comical cats or felines turn traditional grammar lessons on end. Each pair or group of synonyms is printed in color for easy and simple identification. Read this book aloud and share the delight of the sense—and nonsense—of words.

I think that this is an excellent book. This is very helpful when learning about synonyms. The author used different colors to denote synonyms throughout the book. For example, he made all of the synonyms for the word "laugh" red, and the synonyms for the word "cleaning" blue. This helps the reader clearly see which words are synonyms. Also, the author used rhyming in order to make the story more engaging. For example, the author says, "Synonyms help us to use the right word, as in sly or clever, strange or absurd." The rhymes that the author incorporates keeps the reader engaged and interested in the story because it is fun to read. The main idea of this book is that synonyms can help to make writing more interesting and descriptive.
