    ROBERT L. VAN DE CASTLE, Ph.D., was a professor of clinical psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Virginia Medical School, where he also directed the Sleep and Dream Laboratory. He served on the Council of the Parapsychological Association and was elected president of the association in 1970. Dr. Van de Castle co-authored The Content Analysis of Dreams in 1966 and continues to study and write about dream research today.
