About this ebook

Whether you are new at intercession or have been at it for quite some time, no doubt you have some questions. Perhaps you've mentioned them to your pastor or other prayer warriors, but haven't received the answers you were searching for. Maybe you've been too embarrassed to even ask them, because you feared others would not understand.

In Your Intercession Questions Answered, Lee Ann Rubsam tackles questions intercessors commonly have, from basic terminology to more complex issues they face as they walk out the ministry of prayer -- questions such as: how to "flow with the Spirit"; how to keep from burning out; what kind of supernatural experiences are normal in the course of prayer; how to know when you have "prayed through"; what to do to avoid word curses and witchcraft prayer; why there are tensions between you and your pastor -- and how to fix or avoid them; how to handle spiritual warfare wisely; and many more.

    Introduction

Through many years of writing and teaching on the ministry of intercession, I have been asked a lot of questions, and after a while, I noticed the same ones popping up repeatedly. Sadly, many church leaders have never been taught the ins and outs of intercession and what those who serve the Body of Christ through prayer might encounter in the course of their ministry. As a result, they are unprepared to help those who have these questions.

Because of that, within our churches we have people who pray well and hear valuable information from the Lord, but who feel like nobody understands them. They often don't know what to do with the revelation they receive or the spiritual experiences which they encounter. If there are no other intercessors within their local fellowship to turn to for support and mentoring, it can be a lonely walk indeed!

That's why I have written this book for all my fellow prayer warriors. We're going to try to cover the spectrum from merely satisfying your curiosity on certain points to relieving those nagging questions about whether you are sane or have gone off the deep end. I think many of you will be pleased to find out you are more normal than you had imagined!

    Let's begin!

    The Basics

    What is intercession?

Very simply, it is approaching the throne of God on behalf of others. It spans everything from praying for one person in need to asking God to intervene in world events.

What is the difference between an intercessor and a prayer warrior?

There is no difference. We used to call ourselves prayer warriors, but intercessor is the current cool term. The important thing isn't what we call ourselves, but what we do -- stand in prayer on behalf of someone else and pull down their needed answers from heaven. I use the terms interchangeably.

How do I know if I am an intercessor or not?

First of all, I think we need to stop obsessing so much about what label or title we bear, and just do what the Holy Spirit is prompting us to do.

Prayer should be an important part of every Christian's life. We can't carry on a relationship with God if we never talk to Him. Furthermore, it comes quite naturally to us to pray for loved ones and acquaintances who have needs. God has wired us to care about the well-being of others, and therefore, we pray for them as concerns arise. In that sense, every believer should also be an intercessor.

But some of us are more intensely motivated toward intercession. We feel almost driven to pray and seek answers for others. When that happens, we have stepped
