    You only get one chance to make a good first impression. You’ve probably heard that expression a dozen times or more. Submitting your work to an editor or agent is a lot like going on a job interview. It’s your chance to shine. Your one shot at standing out from the crowd. Your opportunity to give the person sitting behind the desk, (in this case at a publishing company or agent’s office), the incentive to request your complete manuscript or even offer you a publishing contract.

    So how do you make that great first impression?

    In this short how to guide, I’ll take you through the process of putting together everything you’ll need to accompany your manuscript when it’s time to submit it. I’ll show you how to create a catchy tagline. How to write a blurb that makes an editor think that someone in the marketing department penned it. I’ll tell you about the dos and don’ts of writing a cover letter. And finally, show you how to write a synopsis that will have an editor asking to read your story.
