To My Father
Son of a wine land who always wanted to drink with me while I preferred other delicacies.
It was just after his death, finding myself inheriting hundreds of bottles, and feeling that I had to drink them all in his memory and honor, which I quickly did, that I got into the cheerfulness of wine and new dedicated friends.
One of them, Mr. Gian Antonio Posocco (Nalin), master of Assyria Natural Vines, led me to the unlimited domain of exotic smells, tastes, and companionship.

Introduction
It’s late in the evening when I get a call from Gian Antonio. He informs me that he purchased a land plot on the prosecco hills and will start planting a vineyard early the next day. Come and help,
he says, so I’ll teach you how to do it.
I had previously aired my desire to have a vineyard and make wine or grow hops and make beer—one of those things that are said after a few drinks and often remain suspended in the wind.
However, he understands wine and beer, when even after a few bottles he says he does it, he does it.
I get organized, take one of the first trains early in the morning, and forty minutes later, I’m at the station where he picks me up. Half an hour by car, and we are in the middle of the vineyards, on the hills. We park in a recess of the road, load many tools on our shoulders and proceed on foot for another five minutes to the hill-top from where we can see his land, quite sloping, organized in terraces facing the sun, like almost everything around. The view is gorgeous.
Some time ago, you told me you wanted to plant a vineyard in your yard,
he says, wearing work gloves, now I’ll explain everything. Meanwhile, get ready to sweat because nowadays, it’s entirely possible to start your very own vineyard and grow grapes. There are fundamentally two types of lands or areas used to it,
he continues, "traditional and non-traditional ones and, fortunately, you can have success also in establishing a grape vineyard in a non-traditional space.
Even climate and soil quality are no longer problems for you, as long as you follow the specific guidelines when tending to your winery. All I tell you will become your essential guide to achieving your goals in starting and maintaining your chateau. Always remember, when looking for the perfect area, that grapevines require easy access to direct sunlight if they are to bloom and grow adequately. The first three years of the vineyard will be essential to the health of all
