      INTRODUCTION

      Yet Thou art holy, O Thou who art enthroned upon the praises of Israel. - Psalm 22:3

      Nothing is quite as moving to me as being in the atmosphere of praise - Hearing, singing, speaking praise and testimony to God's greatness - His unfathomable love - His miraculous and supernatural omnipotence awakens my spirit like no other force in this life.

      Praise and worship invites God's presence into our midst. There is no greater power - there is no greater love - there is no greater grace - there is no greater mercy than being in the presence of a most Holy God. So awesome is His presence that we cannot speak a word, neither can we explain His transcending power drawing us from the everyday cares of this life, and instantly transporting us into His magnificent throne room.

      It is difficult for me to understand how a God so Holy would care to dwell in our praises, yet His Word tells us that He inhabits the praises of His people. (Psalm 22:3) There is no greater joy than being in an atmosphere supernaturally charged by the presence and glory of God.

      Songs of Praise is a devotional/journal intended to be used in harmony with your daily meditation and scripture reading. It is NOT a book that uses scriptures as mantras for receiving what we think we deserve from God. It is not a platform for theological argument. Songs of Praise's mission is to focus on the greatness of God and of His power through praise and worship, as well as to transport us from the drab monotony of our daily routine directly into His Holy presence.

      Songs of Praise gives you opportunities to draw away and reflect on the things God has done for you throughout your daily life. You are invited to praise Him through recording your thoughts regarding His magnificence, His mercy and His unfathomable grace.

      There is nothing more beautiful than being in His presence.

      The Smile of the Lord

      Thy Words were found and I ate them, and Thy Words became for me a joy and the delight of my heart; for I have been called by Thy Name, O Lord God of hosts. - Jeremiah 15:16

      As we are faithful in reading God’s Word, our joy becomes more evident. Each day brings new excitement and inspiration. There may be nothing of great relevance taking place, yet, there is a stirring deep within our spirit. Our hearts are glad, and we wear the Smile of the Lord upon our faces.

      We are suddenly aware of His presence and our hearts leap with delight.

      We have been called by His Name. His Name! We are known by the Name of our God.

      Go Forth

      See, I have placed the land before you; go in and possess the land which the Lord swore to give to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to them and their descendants after them. - Deuteronomy 1:8

      The Lord – He is good – His mercies are everlasting – The works of His hands are miraculous and mighty. There is no darkness in Him. Mighty is He in battle to the tearing down of strongholds. He that began a good work in you is faithful to complete it. Though a host encamp themselves against you, He shall deliver. He shall rescue.

      The enemy shall behold the power of the Lord and tremble. None shall come near thee. The enemy shall flee and you shall be delivered. Stand tall – stand firm – do not look back. Keep straight on the pathway leading to righteousness. Your God is your strength - His Spirit, your guide.

      Go forth – conquer in My name. Claim the land for it is yours bought with the high price of Jesus' Blood. Go forth! Claim all that I have for you. Take all that is yours. The steps of a righteous man are ordered of the Lord – Walk forward and do not look back!

When He utters His voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens, And He causes the clouds to ascend from the end of the earth; He makes lightening for the rain, and brings out the wind from His storehouses. - Jeremiah 10:12-13
