About this ebook

Ben loves his new bike. In fact, he loves it so much he even likes riding to school (especially if he can take the long way around)! That is, until an encounter with the local bully, Adrian Underbite, leaves Ben bike-less. When Ben discovers where his bike actually is, the reader is in for a dramatic, and literal, cliffhanger.

Will Ben ever be able to get his bike back?

Find out in this hilarious and tender tale by Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Matt Davies.

A boy, his bike, and a bully. A fun, raucous ride.

This realistic fiction book is about a boy named Ben who got a new bike that he absolutely loved; however, when he arrived at school the school bully stole it and rode off with it. When Ben was walking home form school that day he saw his bike broken and the bully hanging from a branch. He started to leave the bully hanging, but then he changed his mind and saved him. When Ben saved him the bully immediately lunged for the bike and ran off and the next day Ben found the bike repaired on his front porch.

Probably one of my favorite books that I have read this semester! Ben is a young boy with a brand new awesome bike that he likes to use to take the long way to school. But, even with an awesome bike, Ben is still bullied by Adrian Underbite. Adrian is the world's largest third grader and decides to steal Ben's bike. However, when Ben is walking home that day after school, he hears a screech and sees that Adrian has fallen off of the stolen bike, over a cliff and is barely hanging on by a branch. Ben at first thinks that Adrian is getting the karma that he deserves and goes to walk away, but then goes back and saves Adrian. Even though Ben has just saved the bully's life, Adrian still runs off with the bike. Ben is shocked and devastated, but Adrian returns the bike to Ben, fully repaired. This is not your typical bullying book, but it is great all the same. I love the surprise ending and the good nature of Ben as well as Adrian.

Ben loves his bike but, a bully takes it. The bully learns a lesson though when Ben has to come to his rescue when the bully has a mishap trying to get away. The story is comical and heartwarming. Kids will love the humor and the cartoon illustrations.

    Sort of a bully-becomes-nice story.
